Welcome to the GBAtemp UFDI, aka...

Ultimate Flashcart Download Index
Hosted on the Wiki: http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/Ultimate_Flas..._Download_Index

The purpose of this page is to:
  • List every single existing flashcart
  • For each flashcart, provide a link to the official website
  • For each flashcart, provide a link to the system files (FileTrip-hosted files only! read the reasons below)
  • For each flashcart, provide a link to the firmware upgrades (FileTrip-hosted files only! read the reasons below)

Why should you link to FileTrip-hosted files only?
1) because it's a reliable and fast download site with no broken links. It'll always be there.
2) because you don't need to update links when new versions are released. For example in the R4 DS section, we link to Wood R4. Well if a new version of Wood R4 is released, you don't need to update the link since FileTrip offers you to download the latest version no matter what.
3) we don't want to be sucking off bandwidth from other websites
4) If you link to updates hosted on the official website, those are usually slow, links break down after a while, etc.

Other points
** If some flashcarts were omitted feel free to add them to the page.
** Also, don't split this page into different other pages. The point is to have ALL THE FLASHCARTS on the same page.
** Don't insert images (except in the page header) or else this page will become too cluttered.
** When adding information to the page, don't edit the whole page! Edit a single section instead (next to the flashcart name, theres an "edit" link on the right, use that). If you edit the whole page it makes collaborative work impossible.
** Please do not move cards from "original" to "fake" and vice versa. If you think a flashcart was erroneously categorized, discuss it here.

I've already done: Acekard flashcarts, CycloDS. But there's a lot left to do tongue.gif
I'd appreciate if people could lend a hand.
Also, I'm not a wiki expert so I didn't go with a great formatting, so if someone has ideas to improve the overall formatting, i think it's welcome.

Let's do this!

Off topic though.

thanks, I've added it.
FireGrey: well FileTrip is just for hosting really.
In each section you get loads of files not necessarily the exact system files or firmware you're looking for.
So you could find all of that on FileTrip yes, but this is a place to centralize information that is scattered basically.

Which is the point of a wiki basically.
You don't need to create a wiki account to edit btw.

Also, if anyone has problems with wiki syntax, feel free to PM me wink.gif

That would be risky.. Bots can just vandalise the wiki.

I'd recommend sorting the flashcart by brand aswell

Currently it's like this

1 Original Flashcards
1.1 Acekard
1.2 Acekard+
1.3 Acekard RPG
1.4 Acekard 2
1.5 Acekard 2.1
1.6 Acekard 2i

but it could be made like this

1 Original Flashcards
1.1 Acekard (team)
1.1.1 Acekard
1.1.2 Acekard+
1.1.3 Acekard RPG
1.1.4 Acekard 2
1.1.5 Acekard 2.1
1.1.6 Acekard 2i

Which looks much better.

Also I know you said you're not keen on it but putting the "Original Flashcards" and "Clones & Fakes" on two different pages would make the wiki page less cluttered.

And anyone can undo that vandalism wink.gif
Also, I've seen very few bots on the Wiki, and I blocked all of them tongue.gif

I see some people are already adding lots of stuff on the page, thats great.

The Pi, the problem with your method is that there are a lot of teams with just 1 card. So we'd end up with

Team 1
-- card
-- card
-- card
-- card
Team 2
-- card
Team 3
-- card
Team 4
-- card

which makes it worse.

Also, all the files should be on the same page because most R4 owners believe their card is a "real" card, they wouldn't go and look in the clone section.
So by checking this page you know immediately if your card is an original card or a clone or a fake.

I see your point and laugh.gif yeah you're right with the clone thing too.

I added things for a few carts, I'll add more later.

We prioritize updated operating systems over the official and unsupported ones.

Tempted to switch the link to the CycloDS BETA firmware but I'll just include both the official final releases and beta.
