dont know what I have done wrong. PS3 slim FW 3.41 , copied over the correct patched zimage file to dingo microsd. Unplug ps3 , plug in dingoo booted into linux, press power and instantly press eject and hold for a few seconds. Wait a little , then plug in usb stick with manger.pkd in root. And nothing. All I get is unknown usb device detected

This kinda had my interest until I found out Dingoo is an otherwise useless and overpriced handheld, and then I remembered there are almost no PS3 games that I haven't already tried (and usually hated). I'm sure in another year or two there will be something akin to PS2's Free McBoot though, and when you couple that with another PS3 price drop the console should start looking really good to late adopters

ifish: i spoke to a few people who had the jailbreak dongle and the issue was that no one knew if the software it installed would leave a history anywhere that could be detected. however, i never researched it much past 1st hand replies. it appears to just boot the ps3 into debug mode allowing the end-user (or developer) to install and run unsigned code. it also has a unique signature ID. it has been speculated that any game dumped to the HDD which is run using a device that has this code can be identified easily on PSN and thus result in the ps3 being banned from on-line play.

Yeah, there's a supposed 'discreet' backup manager that makes itself look like Modern Warfare 2 to Sony apparently, but the makers of that say that that may not even be enough; there may be other ways to detect this stuff.

I made an FAQ covering this and more in the playstation section.

All I need now is for them to port it to my microwave.
Seriously! The amount of things this is getting ported to is a bit ridiculous! |
