Could you add in a section on how to make YSmenu an executable?
use JP's YSMenu mini generator.
it has an option of executable homebrew

I only brought the R4 because I was curious about Wood and to write the guide. I definately need to add a moonshell section though. The problem is Costello has disabled the anchors, so if the guide gets to big it will be a pain to navigate. Edited by tk_saturn, 27 May 2010 - 12:57 AM. |

If you think I need a to add a YSMenu section then I could, I guess I was just trying to keep it simple for the n00bs. I also really need to add a 3-in-1 section, but I don't have a 3-in-1. It's hard to justify spending $20 on one so I can do the guide. I still need to some more images for the latter half of the guide first. Edited by tk_saturn, 27 May 2010 - 01:19 AM. |

Rawrs, I think the moonshell2 section should be in the moonshell2 threads stickied in the Homebrew section since that is a fair bit more generalized (the exact same thing as what is done with AKAIO...and maybe ysmenu to an extent).

You're right, there shouldn't be any difference between
MoonShell with Wood and MoonShell with any of the other firmwares.I'll probably just add a quick section so noobs know they can use it to playback media files and then add a link to a more indepth guide already present on here. Given the number of in depth YSMenu guides on here, I probably just add links to a couple of the YSmenu threads. Edited by tk_saturn, 27 May 2010 - 02:10 AM. |

added a link to it at the bottom of the guide, as your post may get buried in amongst others.

Thanks for the guide, tk_saturn. It is good and clear.
It is so easy to use cheats, now. This is how the cheating system worked in the first versions of Wood: http://gbatemp.net/t170222-woodrpg-v1-00?v...t&p=2160695 (This method does not work in the new versions.) |

Can someone clarify what the last instruction of step 4 means?
"Enter the wood_r4_v1.XX directory, delete _DS_MENU.DAT and r4crypt.exe, now copy the entire contents of the directory to your MicroSD card." where do you enter the wood_r4_v1.XX directory? where do you delete the ds menu.DAT? |

Just ignore that bit, follow the image instead. ![]() wood_r4_v1.XX means wood_r4_v1.07, wood_r4_v1.08 etc. I added that because people asked me to as they wanted to use Wood R4 with their original R4 Software. You only need to follow the last section of step 4 if you want to do that too. Personally I don't point, as to me Wood R4 is better. However to make it easier If you want to do that just extract this archive http://rapidshare.com/files/392310491/wood_r4_v1.08.zip to the root directory of your MicroSD card. Then boot your R4 up using your normal software, and there will be a WOODR4.NDS in the file browser. Launch that and Wood R4 will start. edit: It wasn't totally clear in the guide, so i've done a quick edit to make it clearer. I still need to do a bit of work to the guide. how can you get a "fixed" game like America's Test Kitchen to work on the
Wood R4?Do i just add a ds rom of that game that isn't working properly and put it in the game folder? Or is there some special method to make it work properly with Wood R4? Can someone help me out please? I'm new to this.. thanks |

According to the changelog on Wood 1.07, ATK should be working. You need to be using a clean 'unfixed' ROM.
If you still can't get it to work, add a post to ATK thread thread http://gbatemp.net/t223473-ds-4856-america...-usa?&st=30 with the problem you are having. If it still doesn't work after that, add a bug report to Wood R4 Bug thread http://gbatemp.net/t220061-wood-r4-bugs-an...rica&st=300 and if there is an issue with it, YWG will fix it in the next release. |

Hey I read through this and it helped a lot.
One thing though, I don't think your Save Converter works? It's a .download file off of filetrip. Or maybe I'm doing it wrong? Please let me know. Thanks |
