When I first Had my r4i 3ds gold (www.r4ids.cn) It was a spongebob menu. When I updated, it was chessmaster. Then I switched to the FileTrip Download Link r4i kernel instead of wood. It became a japanese title called Dorasu or something. Now I'm back with wood and the firmware won't change. Why is this?

The icon has nothing to do with Wood. The icon changes (most of the time) whenever you update your R4 to work on the latest DS Firmware. Wood will still work regardless of the icon, but the R4 might not work on the DS if it is not updated.

Hello there; I've got a question. I apologize in advance if this had been answered before or I hadn't looked in enough places, but I own a r4i gold 3DS (yes, it's the one from r4ids.cn) and it works great on my 3DS, but is there a way to make for autobooting it? I can't seem to find the appropriate option on the 3DS's home menu itself, if there is one!

Thanks in advance!

I'm assuming that you're trying to make the 3ds autoboot the game that's being inserted. Unfortunately, the 3ds doesn't have that option.

Oh yes, although more like I'm trying to get woodr4 to boot itself. :/ But thanks for confirming that there is no way for a game card to autoboot. smile.gif

wood should autoboot on a r4i gold 3ds. Are you loading into the it's official firmware, then booting wood r4 in it? If you still have your old firmware in, you should remove every file for it and only have the wood r4 firmware in.

I suppose it is weird then? It was a fresh firmware install- I just got my r4i gold in less than 2 days ago. I saw earlier in this thread (wonderfully written and informative, by the way) that I only need the __rpg folder and _DS_MENU in the root of my SD card- and I understand that might be an earlier version of Wood? Now, is the WOODR4.NDS the problem?

And really mate, thanks for bearing with me. grog.gif

I'm about to throw my DS straight through a window. Ok, so i was following this guide exactly, download FileTrip Download Link WOOD R4 v1.46 off r4ds.com, and my DS sticks at the Loading... screen after the health and safety bit at the beginning. It's really annoying me, as now my R4 chip hasn't even got the original thing on, so unless i can get this wood working, i can't play :@

Please help someone.
