I have more to add to my post. I went to the link and downloaded the "hack" file. I don't see a readme so not sure exactly how to use it. I did glance at the comments so maybe I missed how to do it. Do I just drop it into my SD card and run HBC? And when you suggested Priiloader, did you mean to install Priiloader and hacks.ini? Or were you saying either or? I have a 512mb SD card too. Not sure if size is important for a file this small.
Sorry, I guess I wasn't nearly specific enough.
1. You get the latest version of PriiLoader here and put the apps folder from inside the ZIP in the root of your SD card and put the hacks.ini file in the SD:/apps/priiloader/ folder and then run the installer with the HBC to install it.
2. Once it's done installing and has sent you back out to the HBC turn off the Wii and hold down the "reset" button when you are turning it back on again. This will take you to PriiLoader instead of the system menu.
3. Go to the settings and make sure you have the option "use classic hacks.ini" set to ON and hit "save settings" and go back to the main PriiLoader menu (with the B button if I remember right.)
4. Go to "system menu hacks" and enable all the options you want. At least enable blocking disc updates and online updates but I would personally turn on everything that says region free as well. If enable anything else you think you might like. If it you don't like what it does you can always hold down the reset button the next time you turn it on and change them again.

Thanks for being so helpful. I think I have 1 more question/issue that I hope you or whoever can help. I got everything set up with my SD card. I tried installing PriiLoader but got an error about something relating to CIOS36. According to the ReadMe it makes mentioned of HBC being at version 1.0.7 or above. That or I would need to fully patch it. I looked and I'm currently running 1.0.5. I tried updating it but after that it went to a black screen and my Wii's disc drive blinking. Maybe I was suppose to press a certain button or maybe it's a weird bug? I don't know.

Seems I need to do either the patching or trying to update HBC again. Is what I experience with updating HBC common?

wow 1.0.5? you're rather outdated. I'd recommend re-softmodding your wii. You can use modmii or a guide on these forums

Yeah, that might be a good idea. ModMii will actually have you install PriiLoader 236 mod which has the only difference of installing off of cIOS236 instead of IOS36 but it will provide a WAD for cIOS236, too. Newer versions of the HBC don't need either one to install.

I'm not sure I really understood what exactly happened when you tried to update the HBC. Is it that opening the HBC is now just a black screen, the PriiLoader installer is just a black screen, or turning on the Wii is just a black screen? If your HBC still works and didn't update the simplest way is just to put the installer (the boot.elf file) in a folder and put the folder in your /apps/ folder on the SD card and just run it with your previous version of the HBC.

Yeah, I looked up some Youtube videos to see what i was doing wrong. I guess from what i saw I actually had to click "Install". In my head I was thinking that I don't need to Install, I needed to Update. I just needed to sleep I guess ha. Pretty much everything worked like it should. I opened up HBC and got the update notice. After getting the Splash Warning screen, I got to the menu where I should of updated. I clicked "Exit" on both screens and I guess it than went to a Black Screen where it probably should of went back to the system menu. I tried updating about an hour ago, but WiFi isn't being nice to me today cause it kept failing while trying to download the update files.

I will try again later in the day, unless you guys think I should really remod my system? From the looks of it it really just sounds like I just need to update HBC. I don't really use my Wii enough so don't really want to go through all the work to soft mod it. I plan on trying to update HBC once more, unless you feel it's better just to remod it. Of course if the game still doesn't work after I update, I'll def remod.

Okay, if you don't use the Wii much, I can see how there would be a bit more effort involved. If your WiFi keeps giving you problems you could always download the HBC installer on the computer and run it from a folder in your SD card as mentioned in my previous post. If it still can't run from the disc channel them you might need to at least update your IOS's.
1. That would be just be going to the first download page on ModMii and pressing "I" and [enter] to download all active IOS's.
2. If you use DML or a cMIOS to load Gamecube backups you would then enter "M10" to get rid of the MIOS download.
3. enter "D" and it'll download it so you would have everything you need to install.
4. copy everything to the SD card and install it on the Wii with your favorite WAD manager (I suggest Multi-Mod Manager which is MMM on page 2 in ModMii.)

So, if @Maxternal's tutorial is too hard, then download ModMii and follow the steps (saying "Y" to the question about remodding, obviously)

Sorry for the late update. Thanks to everyone who has mentioned anything. I was able to update HBC and install Priiloader. I put in the disc just to make sure and looks like it will load. Haven't tested it out cause my extra Wiimote needs constant charging cause for some reason it doesn't want to last long. Even with new batteries. Thanks all for being so helpful.

I have a noobish hardware-question - Why does the Wii never power off completely? The light is on even after turning the console off, and it's always a little warm on the side. That's silly and must eat up energy. Must I freaking unplug the power chord every time?

Is your Wii connected to the internet? You need to turn it off while you don't use it or your Wii may be overheated and brake.

turn off wiiconnect24 and make sure standby connection is off in wii settings

Another option is turning the "ignore standby" setting on in PriiLoader if you have it installed but like Shano56 mentioned, checking the standby option in the WiiConnect24 part of your system menu settings is the normal way to do it.

Does the disc drive (if a disc is inserted) make a noise? Preloader 0.29 and below had a silly bug which made the Wii be active even in standby.
