PROJECT DELAYED! CURRENTLY UNWORKING REPACKS!
EDIT: I am currently unsure whether this will work.
I am having trouble repacking the rom.(FIXED *yay*)but theres other errors too
When I Repack the Narc it takes some blocks away from the sprites(in a clean repack!)

heres some details for myself (i'm going to bed soon or maybe i'll through a all nighter and watch anime)
narc = include File Names
lz = no prepend

in hex the main difference is BTAFD(clean) vs BTAFL(repack)
i assume need the narcs to be BTAFD not BTAFL.
does anyone have any narc repackers that make the BTAFD narc?

QUOTE
I would like to start translating the rosario to vampire ds game

Game Name

Rosario to Vampire: Tanabata no Miss Youkai Gakuen

I'm not sure how popular this was in japan but even the comics and anime havn't been *officially* translated,

Its basicly a game consisting of mostly dialogue, with a few minigames and battles, (its prettty cool...)
anyway heres some screen shots

info
in the folder narc,
they are narcs inside lz's
so extract from lz then extract from narc.

in the bb folder the files are in 'BB format, but they have different files inside them e.g,
(i opened adv_char.bb in hex editor and found a narc signature,
but in others thers BBG and BAC and MPC)

has anyone seen the bb format before? perhaps its a type of compression.
am looking up now...
...
...
...
its unlikly that its a Blitz Source Code File, because thats 3d...
...
...
...
ok if anyone knows how to use please share info...

ok just had a look through the narcs and found out that
BB = File Archive, currently unknown
BAC = SPRITES! (see picture below)
BBG = File Type
BPA = File Type
BMO = File Type
MPC = File Type, Probably Contains Messages...
SD(BSD?) = File Type (Header says BSD)

BTAF4 = part of a narc header

picture of mgbtl_chr_lz7.narc/chr_moka.bac
http://www.freewebs.com/ravenware/BACFILES.bmp

Inside mgbtl_lz7.narc theyres 8 msg_1st.MPC (and others up to 8th) (Perhaps these could contain messages?)
oh and in bb/adv_msg.bb theres probably more message files... (opened with hex you can see MPC, which is probably used for messages)

Also If anyone would be interested in translating stuff PM me.

I'm guessing (because I'm not really used to working with shrunk, sprite-like kanji that confuses me more than it should) that's "gozen", which is the equivalent of either just 'morning' in itself, or used to represent 'A.M.' after, you know, the time.

If you take the text and put it in some kind of spreadsheet
(Like Nnoitora does with google docs, as I have NO rom hacking skills)
I would love to try to translate this in my free time.
Sadly, I have a full load of classes, so it might be kinda of slow
but I would love to help.

PM me later with more info

What are you using to unpack/repack the rom? I often would have weird errors when repacking with dslazy, but using FileTrip Download Link crystaltile2 to repack it fixed those problems :x

dslazy works well. currently i've tryed using nitroexplorer and kiwids editor aswell, they all seem to work now, i just forgot to clean dslazys folder B4 extracting agian...

now the problems i've been having are to do with the narc repack.
dmtitle_lz.narc contains the menu text, but when i repack it stuffs up the rom... (using kiwids editor for narc repack)

sooo.... any ideas?
