oh and about the FileTrip Download Link N5 firmware, the N5 team is limited in updating the firmware. (it's also hex edited R4 firmwares) Once it comes to games that requires new lines of codes to surpass a game with some weird copyright protection, it won't happen.

Thanks for that, I've read your OP, understand it and, have research every link you provided. Now for the serious questions....Which flashcart is best? Is it still the R4? toot.gif

ok I have read this thread and looked through several others

honestly i can't find a legit answer

I have a real r4 an a fiend of mine was impressed with mine at work and went out and bought one

however his is fake clone I have no idea which one I think he bought it from from the team who recently released the fake .19 kernel

he hasn't bought his actual ds yet but I'm moving so he wants me to show him what to do before i go

i haven't had a chance to play with it

I wanted to know is there any diff from the real r4? will a clone r4 work like my real one?

@psywolf,
probably better off posting in this thread:
http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=105...30&start=30
OP (ozzymud) seems to be across R4 clones crapola and will probably be able to guide you somewhat.

Note: although opinion not asked for = I personally would advise your friend to get a refund. If can only exchange and wants to shop for cheap options, look at Acekard 2.1, DSTT, or something similar.

Hmm, maybe you could add something to the list, pychoblaster. I mean, you never know, someone just might have missed the GBATemp front page and ask this question:

"Will the R4 work on my DSi?"
No, there are currently no slot-1 flash carts working on the DSi.

Man, I think I'll do a little Alfred Pennyworth here and say,

"Know your limits, R4."
Can't afford to know them.
"And what happens the day we run out of things to add to pychoblaster's topic?"
That'll be the day when you get to drive the nails into the R4's coffin.

You know, that is a good question. Except someone would just toss an answer your way like "Anything after Incredible Hulk" wacko.gif

Personally though, I suggest trial and error. I don't think there's anyone who would go out of their way to list games that don't work on the R4. Most of us have moved on.....

Really though, with so many R4's out there, some games work on some cards that won't work on others. I've seen that many times. So in a way to make a list of non-working games is quite useless.

ok i am also asking cos i wondered if there is any game at all that dont work?

ive just tried out the ~ 50 top games for ds (according to ign and some threads here) and all have worked...

But like how you say it, it sounds kinda like 100s of games dont work with r4. is that true?

R4 Compatability List: http://wiki.scorpei.com/index.php/R4_compatibility_list

I think there's only 4-5 games (all needless) that don't work at all, out of what..2924 tested to-date. There's been a few games that need the ARM7.bin fix to work (or custom firmware, such as YSMenu), but all work perfectly after 'fixing'.
But the list of non-working games is only going to grow, as R4 is dead with no more updates assured.

R4 heat? That's a new one.
There shouldn't be any heat generated by it (I've had one for over 12 mths with no such issue).

As for your second question - if you refer to your DS console instruction booklet, you will read that Nintendo states you can play your DS whilst on charge, with no ill-effects.

So, uh, not to be a noob, butr maybe you should also post this up there, with an answer:

"Now that the R4 company got screwed, should I buy a new card?"

That's been bugging me forever....
