I have been trying to get homebrew on my wii now for a couple days. I have successfully installed the backup hbc channel somehow but it will not update to newest version. I keep getting that no vulnerable ios found error. The version I have now is 1.0.6. I am able to use my usb loaders and play games but it would be nice to have everything up to date. I bought this console used off ebay so I don't know if it was a virgin or not by the looks of it doesn't look like it. I did try the search but nothing comes up on this problem with having the unoffical homebrew channel not being able to update. Here is a log:

Why are you using an unofficial HBC? I didn't even know one existed. That could be the source of your problem.
Anyway, I see a few IOSes that are patched, but nothing that should prevent HBC from installing, you could try installing a clean IOS58 WAD (grab it with NUS Downloader) as the HBC installer will refuse to use a patched IOS.

I used the casper fix to get the backup hbc installed. The reason being is that I couldn't get homebrew on it the day I got it. Casper was the only thing that somewhat enabled me to get anything on. Not sure what the heck the previous owner did. Installed virgin 58 no dice.
