Fisrt of all, let me teel my story:
I have a FAT32 HD, where I used WiiBackupManager x64 (my system is x64) to transfer the ISO for the HDD in WBFS files.
Returned the HDD to consoles, tried both USB Loader GX and CFG USB - none of them worked.
In the first, I could start the game, but after the "tutorial", the game entered in an eternal load screen , with that beautiful sword shinig in the corner. Forever.
So, after a LOT research on the web, found a solution (don't aske me where, I REALLY don't remeber): Use Loader GX with IOS 249 and Anti-002 enabled (and I saved these config for this game). Bingo! I could play normally! Even saved the game! Until I turned off the console...
When I tried to play it again, the game didn't even seemed to load - It did not show the "reading disc" nor the white screen with Wii joystick warning. Just a black screen. This in Loader GX; is CFG the things got worst: when I select the game, the loader freezes.
I tried to erase the save file, but nothing, the behavior is the same.

Below is my system check, performed when I could play the game at first:

The default setting is working fine with most games, and Xenoblade works just fine with the default settings too.

"Use Loader GX with IOS 249 and Anti-002 enabled" = Default setting (for the 002 error: enable or Anti does the same thing).
So, in fact, you didn't change anything, you just forced the default setting.

If the game doesn't work, maybe it's a bad rip (re-rip your game).
Try to defragment your FAT32 partition, sometime it helps.
Another choice is to use a NTFS partition, either with wbfs files or with the full iso.

I'll ask the most experienced user: Should I keep my HDD in FAT 32, or change it to NTFS OR WBFS?

I left it as FAT32 because I used the HDD to store games, covers, titles and wiitdb.
But now I got a 4gb SDHC (which is more than sufficient for apps, covers, titles and wiitdb)

I believe that dual-layer games in FAT32 is all about luck... for what I searched, I may say that I got a 50/50 ratio of success/falure with Dual Layer games in FAT32 partitions.

for Wii games I recommend using NTFS because FAT has a 4GB limit size

I use a 1TB HDD with two partitions:
- 750GB NTFS for Wii games stored in wbfs format
- 250GB FAT32 (32k cluster size) for roms

@Nahuel: FAT32 has a 4GB limit on a single file, but FAT32 can play games bigger than 4GB as the games are split in multiple smaller files. no need to format to NTFS unless you want to use the single ISO file.

@rph: modmii correctly updated your console.
Your syscheck looks good.

The problem is probably your USBLoaderGX settings.
Which IOS slot are you using? You should set the loader to Slot249 or Slot250.
If it doesn't help, you should delete the setting files (or all the folder) and start a new version of the loader.

Cyan, thnx for you efforts. I already made the changes in HDD: now it is NTFS.
I made backup of my games (.wbfs) and then I put them back to disc in .iso format.
As for USB GX, I removed the old one, and installed a "new" version - which I discovered being the same I had, lol.
As for CFG USB Loader, I'll install the latest - v70r50 (I was with v70r46). I believe that's not much difference, but mayb e this IS the question, lol.
When I achieve success, I'll tell you all.

btw, Cyan, I feel sorry for your wife and kid. But you shouldn't go onto that train!!

Ok Here I am again. CHanged the HDD to NTFS, but each time I play the game (which may "increase" the size of savefile) the game takes a longer time to load.
I start the USB Loder GX, select Xenoblade, then I got a black scren. Then I wait... and wait... and wait a little longer. Then I see "reading disc", and then the white-screen-control-waning.
Each time I play, the waiting time increases!

Any of you know what may be the cause of this and how to avoid it?

Today I'll try CFG USB loader - had to unistall it, because everytime I tried to to load Xenoblade, it'd freeze just by clicking the game cover.
I'll reinstall and see what happens.
