Hi,

I'm not at home and won't be for a few weeks. I don't have a headset for my Xbox but I want to use Cortana.

I found a headset with a mic and headphones, but there are two jacks on it. One for the mic and one for the headphones. I don't need the headphones.

If I plugged the mic in would it detect it as a mic? Or does it require a proper headset with a 3 ring jack?

Can someone test this: Plug JUST a mic into the Xbox One controller and see if it works. As I said, I'm not home to do it.

Thanks.

except the moment you look away they tangle all to shit.
I use them when I play and don't wan't to bother everyone else. I don't mind them, and the microphone works fine. It even works great for HDMI pass through with my Raspberry Pi/RetroPie setup. Specifically use Apple headphones exactly because of the built in microphone.

I admit they tangle very easily, however. Annoyingly easy.
