Hacking XBOX 360 Questions

Hey guys i was wondering a few thing:

1. I have an LT 3.0 flashed xbox 360 if i were to update the dash to the latest one will this re-flash my drive to stock?

2. I saw LiteOn with 9504 firmware for the slim xbox 360 after dash update 13146 they go to 0272 firmware and after dash update 13599 they become locked, my question is lets say i have pre 13599 dash and i update directly to the latest dash available will my 0272 become locked?

1. What is your current dash? if it's over 13xxx then it won't reflash your DVD drive.
It's likely you can update it via USB (download the update from xbox.com and extract the folder to the root of an FAT32 USB drive)


2. Yes.
That's 99% likely to be true.
Some 9504 drives will stay unlocked but this is extremely rare.

But as I answered in question one.
Provide me with your dash version (last page of the dash under system settings) then I can give a better answer.

The dashboard version for the console with LT 3.0 is 16197

Yes you can safely update to 16202.

Via LIVE or via USB (download the sysupdate from xbox.com, extract the $Systemupdate folder and plonk it on a FAT32 USB)
