Hi everyone, I recently put together a gaming windows 98 desktop. why? because i really like to fiddle with things, and i also like the nostalgia.

Anyway ive had some trouble finding compatible emulators for old consoles (ps1 n64 snes gba etc...) Which is weird in my opinion seeing these games dont require that much power.

So does anyone know some good emulators that might be compatible with my OS? Im interested in all types.

specs: https://www.allthingsmine.com/products/Desktops/c_S2077004.html "my ram is not 256 but 512.

Thanks in advance.

A.

Might help a bit on this one.

Emulators I've used (looong ago):
-PSX > pSX 1.13 (without having to configure plugins and all that stuff, original PSX graphics. Supports CDZ packed images).
-GBA > VisualBoy Advance 1.8.X (The best GameBoy/Gameboy Color/Gameboy Advance emulator I've found).
-NES > Nesticle/Nestopia/FCEUX (Not the most accurate ones but great anyway).
-SNES > ZSNES (MS-DOS/Windows) / SNES9X (Windows) (Both work great).
-Master System/Genesis/Gamegear > GENS+/Fusion (The best ones on my opinion).
-N64 > Project64 (Played with the keyboard, can't believe actually I did).
-Atari 2600 > Stella (Brings memories to my mind).
-Arcade > MAME/MAME32/MAMEUI (Great compatibility, huge variety).
-NeoGeo > NeoRAGEX (Awesome games, awesome arcade system).
-CPS1/2 > Nebula/WinKawaks/FinalBurn (Not very fond of that system but good to have).
-Other arcade > Zinc/Raine (Many arcade platforms exist(ed?)).

These are the one's I've tried and enjoyed with, hope it helps a bit.

One of the sites that weren't blocked on the school's network was some file uploading sites. I would upload some games, write down the URL and take it to school one day.

It was easy to bypass some of the restrictions, as one of the admins left a registry key in the administrative shares drive, which allowed me to get around the blocking of some sites.
