So for Christmas I'm getting a external hardrive and was wondering if it would work with a wii using wiiflow or USB Loader GX. Here is a link to the hardrive https://www.jbhifi.com.au/computers...s/wd/elements-portable-1tb-hard-drive/438708/
I hope theat don't have an issue other wise I would probably have to see if I can get a refund.I'm not sure about that model, but before I switched to the WD 2 TB version, I was using the seagate 2TB version of the one you just posted and it worked fine. II'm not sure if the loaders still have issues with 3TB external drives.
Ok but does anyone know if this hardrive will work? My parents sort of bought a different one https://www.jbhifi.com.au/computers...ements-desktop-3tb-external-hard-drive/69043/
Can't do it now, It's a Christmas gift and I have to wait till the 25th.can you try to convert to mbr and see if there's any unallocated space split into two in diskmgr.msc? do revert your findings so others can avoid getting the unit in future..
if there is, it means the unit doesn't support 4k logical sector, no point formatting it as gpt ntfs partition. it's unreliable and incompatibility with many homebrew. and you may ask for refund =)
Few years ago when I tested drives on GX, Anything that was USB 3/2 timed out. I could only use true USB 2 drives (enclosures). I must admit that since that time, I am still using a WD 750GB and haven't tried any other drive since. At one point I was thinking about getting a 2 bay USB 2 enclosure.
I guess it pays to follow up on old projects
