As someone previously mentioned, you need a Y USB cable as the Wii U's USB ports aren't powerful enough to power the HDD alone.

Everyone might want to check this out before setting up a HDD on your Wii U. This will disable the sleep function on your HDD.

I would like to have one thing clarified: So the ticket file is extracted from .wud files. What exactly are those .wud files? disc images? So every game that has a physical AND digital release potentially works with this method?

My 1TB HDD formatted pretty quickly, about 5 seconds so I don't know what's up with yours.

Actually there's more under the hood other than a whitelisted version of WupInstaller.

If there is, it's not important. I used ryanrock's version on github and it's installed 2 games just fine
