Hello tempers, thought maybe this would be interesting for some.
I have sucssesely modded my WiiU to have no disc drive but two extra USB drivers direct wired inside the console and to make it work just like i wanted, had a switch installed.
Keep in mind that this is a very easy mod and cheap
If somebody is wanna do this i can try to help :)
I wired the USB drivere to the USB ports in the back and got extra power from one of the USB ports in the front. And the power wire going tru the switch.

Just ask if there something, have to say sorry for my english

Do you keep the DVD drive control board hooked up, and on the switch is the power and ground hooked up
Yes only the DVD drive board ;)
And the switch had 3 pins, i solder the 5v from the back port 0 to I and port 1 to II. I solder a wire from one of the front ports and splitted it to give some extra power to the USB drivers, dont know if that is nesesery :)

Yes correct :)
Have to take it apart or copy from sd with an homebrew, but i never do so, have all the games on it i like + its not like there any new games to wii or gc ;)

I know this thread's kinda old but I want to expand off of this. I had an idea of removing the disk drive and putting the gamecube controller adapter in it's place, because I only really use my wii u for smash. I'd even drill holes for the ports at the front of the console. It'd be cool to have like a smash 4 box. Is this possible?
