Hi,
I've been trying to softmod my wii for a while and I've managed to get myself a bit stuck. I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me work out where I am please!
I remember I started in 2011 and successfully installed the homebrow channel so that I could run linux. I don't remember many details of this - what method I used, etc. My ultimate intention though was to install a backup loader, which I didn't get around to at the time.

So then I just left the wii gathering dust for about 3 years, until a couple of months ago when I decided I was going to finish off what I started. And somehow I managed to lose the system menu in doing so.
The last thing I was doing was this: https://sites.google.com/site/completesg/backup-launchers/installation
On my SD card I have IOS56-64-v5661.wad and IOS57-64-v5918.wad but I don't remember which one I was installing to break it.

The state of my wii is now that the power button does nothing. When I hold down the eject button though, the wii switches on and boots into a black screen. If i hold down eject and reset, it will switch on into priiloader v0.3. Selecting system menu from there will dump me back into a black screen, but I can access the homebrew channel. When I try to run bootmii from the homebrew channel though, the screen goes black and the optical drive starts flashing.

Also, it seems I can't connect a wii remote - I've been having to use a gamecube controller.

I see that the black screen issue can be fixed, according to this tutorialhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWxk1OKRuwM

Problem is, I don't remember what version of the system menu I had installed. Also, before I try to unbrick it, I'd like to make a backup of the NAND flash (hence why I was trying to get into bootmii).

Anyone know how I might be able to backup my NAND flash, or find out my wii system menu version? Or more generally, could anyone help me to understand the current state of my wii?

Thanks very much in advance!
Alec

Edit: I discovered multi mod manager, and used it to work out what system menu version I had - apparently it was 4.1E. I downloaded the correct WAD file to reinstall the system menu, and use multimodmanager to install it. I rebooted and still just a black screen. But now I can't access priiloader by holding down reset any more: I think I may have bricked it.
