Gaming Wii GCN Controller L button doesn't work

For some reason the L button won't work under certain circumstances, Smash bros 64 (virtual console) L won't work.
Smash bros melee it doesn't work while the game is paused so i can't quit.
Smash bros brawl it just doesn't work.
Smash PM it works.
Mario Kart doble dash it doesn't work.
Mario Sunshine it won't work either.

If i want to scroll through pages in the Homebrew Channel the L doesn't work just the R.
What may cause this? because is not a button malfunction

remember that the L and R from gc are analogic with a digital button
maybe your L got the analogic\digital part broken?

i remember seing a button testing homebrew for gamecube, give it a try

also, do you have other controllers which you can test? check the contacts...
