Hi everyone!

This is my first post in this forum!
I searched in all internet and found the solution for my problem ...: '(

So, all games que I tested, in vWii loaders, randomically freezes!

Have tested the USB loader GX, the CFG and the WiiFlow.
I've tried the IOS 249, 250 and 251.
I have already installed the cIOS d2x-v10-beta52-vWii and d2xv10-beta53-alt-vWii.
I have already installed IOS36-64-v3864.wad
Already tested with 2 hard drives 3.5, one USB 3.0 500GB Seagate and other USB 2.0 1TB Samsung. I tried to pendrive with USB 2.0 as well.

Already redid the procedure several times, including formatting the Wii U and redoing from scratch.

I used the Smash Bros. exploit

Please help me, I am very sad because I bought the Wii U with the main reason to play games of Wii and am not having good results ...

Thanks to anyone who can help me!

Download the syscheck app, run it, and post the log that gets created on your SD card here
https://code.google.com/p/syscheck/downloads/list this will list all ios detected and helps pin point any issues

Oh sure, I forgot.

I've had a similar issue to you and long story short the problem is cios installer didn't patch in USB 2.0 to the IOS slots. You'll need to reinstall your IOS slots again and make sure it adds in USB 2.0.

I just had this issue recently actually. I noticed after switching from beta 52 to beta 53 games weren't loading or they were freezing. After running syscheck I noticed that slot 249 didn't have usb 2.0 access but the other slots I didn't patch did.

I'm not sure what causes it to improperly patch your files but if all else fails you can edit cios installer's xml file and add in an argument --ios=236 and that might help.

*EDIT* You might also have to remove ios reload so the xml file will look something like:

Code:
<arguments>
    <arg>--ios=236</arg>
    <arg>--remove-cache</arg>
</arguments>
<version>3.1</version>

In which part of the xml put this code?

Thanks for your help !!!

Yeah you gotta edit the meta.xml file located in the cios installer folder.
The edited file should look like this:
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8' standalone='yes'?>
<app version="1">
<name>d2x cIOS installer</name>
<coder>dragbe, FIX94</coder>
<short_description>Custom IOS installer</short_description>
<long_description>Official Homebrew to install d2x cIOS maintained by davebaol, xabby666 and XFlak.</long_description>
<arguments>
<arg>--ios=236</arg>
<arg>--remove-cache</arg>
</arguments>
<version>Mod 2.2</version>
<release_date>-</release_date>
</app>

Which games are you playing and how are they freezing? it could be the file so you might want to redownload the game, or it could be your hard drive if its not formatted correctly. Try formatting to NTFS and setting the allocation unit size to the highest you can(I set mine to 64kb) and see if that helps.

Then, after the change in xml just reinstall the cIOS or have any other procedure?
Because I just changed and continued freezing ...: '(
Tested basically 3 games:
- Donkey Kong Country Returns (This is restarting the console, gives a black screen and turn to beginning of Wii U. ALWAYS).
- Zelda Skyward Sword (Freeze the screen)
- Mario Kart (freezes the screen)

HD I have sure it's not, because as I said I tested two totally different hard drives and two flash drives, and everyone frozen.

And the partition, I tried NTFS 32kb or more, FAT32 and WBFS (this last is not recognized).

I do not know what else to do ...: '(

It might be a dumb question but you're installing the IOS files with the modded cios installer right? I used this package here to install my ios files https://gbatemp.net/threads/simple-guide-to-install-cios-on-vwii-backup-nand-and-keys.339890/ (contains ios and installer)

My only other guess that I can make is that it's the software you're using to install the games. I use http://www.wiibackupmanager.co.uk/ to install games.

Yes, I took all of that same link!
I took a more current version of the Wii Backup Manager, but I was using to move the games to the HD ...

Wow, did my Wii U is the problem?

I dunno to be honest. Everything seems fine but... hmm... what about your SD card in the front slot? it's possible that the SD card is causing issues.

Format your sd card using this software https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/ and download the latest usb loader gx http://www.mediafire.com/download/loz5oazo7ish9qi/R1233_IOS222-249-250.7z you'll wanna use the ios 249 folder. Extract that folder to your newly formatted SD card in X:\apps\usbloader-gui and try running the game this time.

And you're 100% sure your hard drive is formatted to NTFS and set to active? and with no other partitions or anything else? and you're hooking the hard drive to the top slot in the back? (the slot located in the back when you're laying the wii u down) and finally if your SD card is big enough have you tried putting any game on your SD card and playing it from there?

Never give up man there's always a solution.

*EDIT* It's also possible your hard drive isn't getting enough power. Are you using an external case or are all of your hard drives external? and are they self powered(AC adapter hooked into wall) or are they powered by USB? and if so do you have a Y cord?(split usb cord, needed for USB external drives)

Thank you so much for your help buddy, but have tried everything you posted and nothing worked !!! : '(

I formatted the SD with the program you indicated and nothing I tried with another SD 8GB class 10 and nothing, I tried to run the games direct SD and nothing ... always freezing.

Yes, my HD is NTFS, primary and active, and still freezes. It is a HD 3.5 within a USB 3.0 case. Has external power and is connected directly into the outlet.

I tried to change the USB port, laying on the bottom, because the USB Loader GX supports this, but even so the freeze games.

Has any more suggestions or can I give up? : '(

Can you load real games at all on your vWii? if you don't have an actual Wii game to test try using Nintendon't. Also have you tried any other homebrew like http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Visual_Boy_Advance_GX for example? try playing a game on that and saving data. If it doesn't crash then that kind of irons out any other issues I'm thinking of.

Do you remember how you homebrewed your vWii? I know you said you used the smash exploit but did you do anything else besides installing HBC, d2x, and ios236? when you installed ios236 what installer did you use? I used IOS236 Installer MOD 0.8.

I keep thinking it might just be one of your IOS files. Everything else seems fine though I mean your HD/SD card is properly formatted and you can load homebrew but it's having issues accessing your drives. Which leads me the think either A. d2x screwed up.. somehow, or B. one of your other IOS files was touched and its refusing to work.

If you wanna try Nintendon't:
https://code.google.com/p/nintendon-t/ right click Download Nintendon't and click save as, save it to your SD card:apps\nintendont folder, do the same with meta.xml and icon.png

make sure you format a SD/USB to fat32. You already formatted your SD card before with SD Formatter so it should be fat32 anyways. Grab a game like Animal Crossing as it's the smallest game I can think of. Download DMToolBox(http://crediar.no-ip.com/dwn.php) load that up and select the game and set the output folder to your sd:\games folder and click install. After that load up Nintendon't, select SD, select the game and you're good to go.

So just test the Nintendont here, ran Zelda Twilight Princess. Also froze ...

I'll play the Smash bros here to see freezes or not, being original.

EDIT: Smash Bros original working perfectly, then it must be some cIOS same.
But already reinstalled so many times that I do not know what else to do.

The IOS36 installed with IOS236 Installer 0.8 MOD too.

Try once more installing your cios files. Make sure you set the ios=236 in the xml. Reinstall as follows:
base 56 249, base 57 250, base 58 251

Run usb loader gx and when you select a game go to settings, loader, and change the game ios to 249, 250 and even 251, test each one and see what happens.

IF all of this fails I think your wii u might be semi bricked somehow. I can't be 100% certain though so I'm not telling you its bricked, I'm saying its possible.

Again I reinstalled the cIOS, but still freezing.
In USB Loader GX, I tried with these 3 cIOS and nothing ...

I'm thinking it may be a semibrick, will have something else I can try? : '(
Could post your SysCheck for us to compare?

EDIT: A video with Mario Kart Wii freezing:

My syscheck is identical to yours in every way except I use d2x beta52.

You've already tried reinstalling the HBC right? my only other guess is that it's having issues loading the games because your hard drive isn't getting enough power however you told me you tried loading the game from the SD. You also tried loading games with Nintendont but that doesn't work. IOS58 "might" be screwed up but you risk seriously screwing up your wii u if it isn't.

When you tried Nintendont did it load the game and then freeze or did the application freeze? also did you try using any other app like vba gx? I'm trying to narrow down the results and see if its having issues loading things off your SD/USB.

Did you make a nand dump when you homebrewed your wii u? if you did you could restore that dump and possibly fix everything.

Also what steps did you take to mod your wii u? like did you follow a tutorial or something? did you mess with anything else at ALL?

So, Nintendont freezes in the game.

I followed the tutorial here forum, but skipped the part of the backup the nand, never regretted that much ...: '(

Friend, I know it's against the rules, but you could pass me the stock IOS58 by pm or email, so I try again redo the procedure?

I would be very grateful!

I've been trying to figure out how to obtain it myself. I know you can't download it normally so I think the only way to obtain it is to create a nand dump and rip it from there. If I find something I'll pm you.

    I bet most people at the time still watched it in black and white
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    @Xdqwerty, Many of them did before colour television was common.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
    Likely because black and white TV was in-expensive.

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    It certainly wasn't inexpensive it cost the same as a new car back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
    How much did a 1965 color TV cost?

    For example, a 21-inch (diagonal) GE color television in 1965 had an advertised price of $499, which is equal to $4,724 in today's dollars, according to the federal government's inflation calculator.
