Hi, got luma8.1 on my 3ds but my fw is still on 11.2. So there is no reason to upgrade my fw to 11.4? I only use freeshop to update games, which I believe is dead now? GBA injector and I think that is all since the old 3ds is too weak for emulators and I am not sure what other homebrew worth checking out.

If you want to use the eShop, or Pokémon bank, or play online, then update. If not, it doesn't matter whether you update or not.

Updating won't undo or remove anything I already have on it right? Nor effect future cfw update?

You will still be hacked after update if that's your concern.

You realize that is explicitly states that they WILL NOT release those exploits untill end of life for the 3ds systems. Means we aint gonna be getting those anytime soon

The way support for the 3ds is right now (not too many games releasing for the system like earlier years), we might have EoL for 3ds around late 2018, early 2019. They did this pattern from GBA--->NDS, then NDS--->3DS where they supported the successful system before it was obvious that the new one would succeed too, then nintendo's major games were only then ported over. The switch is a bit unique because of what it is, but Pokemon Switch Version is following the pattern nicely; Nintendo knows the Switch sells, so Pokemon is getting a switch game.

Nintendo insists that they aren't EOLing the 3ds for a while... we'll see if that stays true.

They insisted that about the NDS just before they dropped support in favor for the 3ds. Honestly, I trust actions at this point, not words...
