Here's the thing. It is a simple numbers game. The Switch is clearly outselling the Wii U and has a much much larger market. Nintendo can literally get away with pissing off every single Wii U customer and still make big sales with these ports.

In the end it's simply better to accept that and move on. I already have Botw on both consoles.

With E3 this year it has proved that there are indeed much more games coming to the Switch and it's not just a bunch of WiiU Deluxe re-releases. As long as the Deluxe ports don't interfere with developing new games it should be OK but they will, it will delay and make the development take longer ultimately.

2018 at least for gaming will be a better year.

Yeah, I'm a Wii U owner as well, and I'm tired of all the Wii U ports too, just because their devs can't crank out games in a timely manner. It's almost like they didn't even start developing games until the damn thing launched, and even then they are Wii U ports. I didn't buy the Switch for it to be the Wii U again, I want games that are tailored to the unique hardware. The Yoshi's Story game looks amazing with Unreal Engine 4, and I've never played the original, so that is one I'm excited for. But it's a complete remake from the N64 game, not just a port. Besides Splatoon 2, I'm not even sure what else I'll be buying for the Switch this year, if anything.

Because they'd be killing their future ability to make some of these games. For example, each console only gets one Mario Kart. There might not be a MarioKart 9 on Switch thanks to 8 Deluxe. If Smash for Wii U was ported, the Switch may not receive a new Smash game. I'd rather have them focus on making new games rather than catching everyone up to speed on all the games they missed with the Wii U. The Wii U is dead and done. It's time for SWITCH, and all the new games that come along with that. I get that they need some titles to fill in dry periods throughout the year, but I really hope in a year or so they can get to having a steady stream of fully original titles, not ports.

"The Switch is underpowered compared to the PS4"

What did you expect? A tablet with PS4 power, good battery life, no heating issues and less than $400? Too bad, no such technology exists for tablets to where the same portable hardware with reduced costs, good luck. So yeah people need to get over it lol.

WiiU got 3 Zelda games with that theory. So it doesn't match up in my head.

Then again, this is a PC and not so much a tablet.

I'm curious about what's so great about the souped up ps4 and xbox ones.....honestly I notice the graphic capability goes up......the campaigns length and storyline shrink dramatically. I think it's a downfall.....yall just too I to multiplayer to care. (Which makes me laugh when people that are hooked on any fps multiplayer game complain about rehashed remakes by Nintendo or anyone else.)

Switch doesn't have backward compatibility because it doesn't run disk or have two screen so to counter this disadvantage, porting game from Wii U is the only option left.

The Switch is portable. I see no problem adding portability to games that were once not portable. Especially coming from a console with little market penetration.

I don't mind it in general, as long as it doesn't mean we get less original games.
But what I do mind is that they added battle mode to MK8D but won't release it as DLC for the Wii U version. Now I'm basically forced to buy the game a second time if I want to enjoy battle mode (and I do, I love that thing), but I'm at least going to wait until it gets cheaper.
