What's one of the cheapest "good" gaming configs you can get nowadays? I do not plan to play too many heavy games like The Witcher III or GTA V. I'd like something pausible for "casual" games or something like that.

I'd say 1.5k in BRL. I'm searching for a cheap computer overall. I just want to play some casual games like The Sims and etc on a nice graphics/framerate,
are you willing to build it, or do you want a pre-build? Also, another question if pre-build. Are you looking for a desktop or a laptop?

This is honestly a great PC for medium gaming for a good price

Only thing is that exceeds the 1.5kBRL by just a bit. It's around 1,557BRL if I'm correct

I would recommend a pentium 4650 but that would require for the op to update the bios which might be a hassel but same performance for half the price. Nice build all around.

Eh, leave him with the I3, since if he picks the Pentium, it can also be a hassle on certain games. Source? I have a Pentium G3220 and im crazy to change it :rofl2::rofl2:

There's a big difference between the G3220 and the G4560. Most notable difference? The G4560 has Hyperthreading, so your OS will see it as 4 threads instead of 2. Big performance boost.

I have heard that the pentium kabby lake is actually really good and have seen many benchmarks but for cpu intensive games I'd recommend a better i3 or an i5.

here made one. The one above looks good, but for a cheap build. I would find AMD better to go with because of it being cheaper. Other than that I am an intel fan :P https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QDqCVY
It's over the budget depending on the case you get, but yee.

Mine was 700€.

GPU: GTX1060 3GB 0C
CPU: i7-4790 (not K!)
RAM: 2x8GB
HDD/SDD: HDD 2.5" 1TB 7200rpm
Motherboard: (I don't remember, but it costs like 50-60€ and is from MSi)
6 fans (4 from the case and 2 from the GPU).

If you search on internet, this could cost 900€+- (probably more, if you search in the wrong places).

It is not from a brand (it's generic - made piece by piece).

Good pc but too bad he can't get quad core, even if the dual core i3 handles games well.
There's another way to get maybe quad core at reasonable price and the answer can be ryzen r3, only problem is you have to wait for the announcement by amd.

Dual Core is not as bad as you think

And the magic in it is that he can always upgrade to an i5 or i7 later

And he did say that one of the games he planned to play was Sims, which I can play on my budget gaming PC at fairly good FPS(~60 fps on medium, The Sims 4)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
You should update the 360 to newest dash before RGHing it yes. But not a big deal if you don't, you can install new dash/avatar updates after. It's just easier to do it auto online before, instead manual offline after.

@BigOnYa I wanted to ask you about your experience with seeing south park. Most of the people a bit younger like my younger brother and cousins that are a few younger than me that saw kids found south park funny because of the curse words, kids at school, that seemed like liking the show on a very basic level.

I could not quite have a in depth discussion of the show.

How was it for you? As an adult. What did you find the most interesting part about it. Did you relate to the parents of the kids and their situations. Was it satires, the commentary on society. The references on celebrities' and pop culture.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I remember seeing the very first episode back in the day, and have watched every episode since. I used to set my VCR to record them even, shows how long ago.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I just like any comedies really, and cartoons have always been a favorite of mine. Family guy, American Dad, Futurama, Cleveland Show, Simpsons - I like them all.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
South Park is great cause they always touch on relavent issues going on today, and make something funny out of it.
