Just curious as to what people think about ad blockers. I think most will agree ads are pretty annoying and sometimes down right intrusive. (Especially when you are on sketchy sites ) But the sad truth is websites get money from ads. So are there any websites where you have ad blocker turned off for what ever reason? For example, I have ad blocker turned off for YouTube and Gbatemp.

I'm not more likely to buy something because of an online ad, so I have them all blocked with no exceptions.

All sites.
Today I checked my Email (Outlook) and it notify me something along this lines: "We found you're using an Ad-Blocker. Please stop, and subscribe to ours"

Damn... even Outlook needs publicity.

Always on, on everything. I'm getting spoiled now. When I use my phone (no adblocker at all), I beg to have one.
Opera Mini has free Add Blocker.

Why don't you have an adblocker at all on your phone? What kind of phone do you use? I use a rooted Android with AdAway and YouTube AdAway. I very rarely, if ever, see ads. An ad-blocking DNS on your home network, at the least, would also help.

Non rooted android, and can't be bothered to install it haha.
I spend 95% of my internet browsing on PC anyway.

Always have my adblock on since my laptop is shit as is and i can't really stand further slowdown because of ads taking like 60% of the time for a webpages to load.

There are other non-root options.

Unless you're clicking the ads or watching them for a prolonged amount of time after the skip option becomes available, you might as well be using an adblocker if you care about content makers getting money.

Depending on your adblocking method, you might actually be using more RAM with the adblocker.

None, with my visits to porn tube sites there is no way I'd have an adblocker off for that. Not really because of the ads themselves, just because they delay the inevitable actions.

Block every site but this one,, the ads aren't intrusive and it helps maintain the site.

Apart from my phone, then everything is blocked because of how much smaller the screen is

Everywhere at all times that I am not testing a new website for someone, and if I do not immediately leave a site that tries to stop it I don my hacking gloves and hat so as to work around the blocking. The only times I really do that though is someone links me to a news website that tries it on and I only want to read the article so as to diss it.

I also install adblock on every machine I set up or find myself vaguely responsible for.

"But the sad truth is websites get money from ads."
Even if I cared (I really don't, never even crosses my mind and I find it strange that it would for others*) then everything I care to see will always have someone else start out as a hobby.

*whether it speaks more to the people I hang around with I do not know but the only complaints I have had there usually come from those websites that the adblocker might slightly break. Not once has it been a moral issue. Maybe it is like the piracy thing where the younger types actually believed what they were told in school.
