Other than restoring the sysnand, is there any other way to revert back the original system menu when downgraded mset is installed? Like extract the original from sysnand.bin and install as cia ? Not that I have bricked any system, I am just trying to reduce the risk as much as possible.

If you can find the cia of whatever MSET you had before, then you can just reinstall it.
I should have described more details. For N3DS that are on 9.0-9.2, I had to install the 4.X MSET to use the DS Profile exploit. Now that the autoboot is out, I want to get rid of it without restoring the original NAND.bin I have dumped via GW menu. Is there such a way ?

Yes, find the 9.x MSET cia file (on that iso site), install it to sysnand. It will overwrite the 4.x MSET and you will have your original MSET.

Find a 9.0-9.5 update pack and grab the mset cia from it.

Or you can just find the cia on that thread :
"[MEGA] [CIA/BIN] MSET 4.X & 6.X backups, Browser backups, Update packs (All Regions) " (Google it)

I just checked the thread, there is no standalone MSET cia for New3DS, only O3DS. He will have to get the new3DS update pack from that thread, as you said.

yea, I have the update pack. But installing it in sysnand is a bit challenging. The thread with the guide to install CFW with just broserhax and cubic ninja cia is the right one ?

Don't install the whole pack but only the mset cia (0004001000021000.cia) with either devmenu.3ds/devmenu_2x.cia or the latest FBI (destination nand)

It's the same cia for both.

For JPN version, which cia is it for the 9.X MSET?
