Wanted to check in with those who know about the vita more than I do. So I have a 3.55 that I recently have TN-V on. And I been using a 4gb that came with it. So weighing my options locally I can get a 32gb or 64gb used for decent price at $35 and $60. But reading around is it really true that if it was used on a 3.57 vita that it will not work on my 3.55 even after a format of the card?

If that is what sony has really done then it makes finding memory cards for good prices harder for lower firmware vitas. And I know I can just buy a new card but that would just mean supporting sony in their scamming and I don't want to feed to their horrible decision in overpriced memory.

None of that is true. If it was, then no one would buy preowned memory cards. Besides, all game retailers format all memory cards and hard drives. So no, there's no such thing as a firmware locked memory card.

Do you know if that changed in a recent firmware update? I been reading this from many sources like wololo, hackinformer and reddit.

Maybe I am mistakingly reading this then as it seems the issue is when someone wants to use on 2 devices like vita and tv with different firmwares using same psn. Guess I will plunge in and get one to format.
