I can't wait for ep 3 or HL3 to incorporate the portal gun into real gameplay.
Was it said anywhere that it was going to be or are you just assuming that?

Absolutely brilliant! HL2 has not aged at all. Still my FAVOURITE FPS of all time, it's just so good. Valve are champions indeed!

I've also completed Portal and all the advanced levels. Portal is one of the most fun and refreshing games I've played in a LOOOOONG time. It's an absolute gameplay marvel. The guys that coded this must be freaking geniuses . I can't wait for ep 3 or HL3 to incorporate the portal gun into real gameplay.

The robot, the boss fight and the ending of Portal are fantastic. The song is catchy as hell!

Yeah portal was great

I loved the ending and the song.

Hopefully they can incorporate the portal gun into half-life...I mean it's in the half life universe but I'm not sure if gorden will use it or not..maybe it'll be half life: portal or something

Portal is fantastic. I wasn't expecting it to be so good. I acutally enjoyed it more than Ep2.

And the ending credits song was pure win. I extracted the mp3 from the game files to save to my music collection.
Also found the ascii art used in the credits.

I started playing again with the commentary turned on. And in the first "hidden" area you find (in the test with all the torrent driods), Newell (I think it was Newell atleast) says the "this first Portal game doesn't reveal all of [the story]". So that made me happy to know there will be more.

(Maybe this was already announced some time ago, but it's the first time I heard of it.)

Also, one thing that's been bugging me is. What happened to all the other humans? The workers, scientists, etc.

Remember the ending?

When you were fighting the robot? She said that piece you destroyed was the part that was basically her conscious. She said they installed it after she started pumping deadly gases throughout the place. So I'm assuming many died that way. But some had to survive to install that part.

I thought about that until I listened to it a second time.
It sounded to me like they installed it after the first time she pumped out the gas to keep her controller and prevent more deaths. Then work resumed as normal.

I figured if the gas had killed everyone, there would had to been bodies still lying around.

she cleans it up with the incinerator somehow. I think you're just overanalyzing.

I'd rather over-analyze than explain it with "somehow".

I'd still want to know how.

As I'm typing this I suddenly had a thought of a prosecutor explaining to the jury that the accused killed the victim "somehow".

Anyway, in the commentary Gabe Newell said there will be more Portal games, so hopefully more will be revealed in the future.

Sounds like what I have for my computer (I'd have to go home to double check, at work now), and I've been able to run it okay. Don't expect to be able to do high detailed graphics though.
