Gaming USB Flash Drive/External HDD

Has anyone tried them on the wii yet? I remember nintendo saying they would work. Any experimenters?

Also, what is the file extension of VC games and has anyone tried to transfer them to a friends memory card? If so, what was the outcome?

Nintendo said the VC games are encrypted to work only with the Wii where it has been downloaded, so you can't transfer them to a friends memory card :s

Once bought, they are kind of registered to the code of your Wii.
