Hacking Updating my R4 "HappyBox" flashcard?

Hello, everyone. I bought this R4 in 2014 - here's a picture of it

It came with this weird firmware called "HappyBox". Picture below

The problem is, when I tried to put those files in my micro SD card, it would give me 2 different errors.

Error #1, when the file _DS_MENU.DAT was in the root of the micro SD card:

And the bottom screen was just blank

Or, when said file was NOT present at the SD card:

And it would just get stuck here. Once again, bottom screen blank.



So, my question is: What should I do in order to update my flashcart? Happybox 2.0 didn't seem to work, so what else can I resort to?

hmm, that's the wrong site. Check the site on the cart.
It says r4isdhc.com . r4i-sdhc.com is a different one. I personally hate r4isdhc.com, but like r4i-sdhc.com. Either way, that's not the correct one iirc. (Why would r4i-sdhc.com show up on an r4isdhc.com cart, I mean)

Yes, I realize that, but the original website has long since changed and I can no longer download useful files for this one R4 on it.

Even so, it's unlikely that files from r4i-sdhc.com will work just because they have a similar name.

I got those from GBATemp, actually, from a thread where someone wanted to update an R4 with "Happy Box", too.
But the thread is years old, and I felt like creating a new one would be better than reviving a dead one.

Try using the files from this site. They both look very similar carts and they both have the "HappyBox" thing so it may just work.
