Misc Unlink NNID from a 3DS CFW

Want to unlink NNID for doing some DSiWareHax, but have NNID linked. I have read from an old post on GitHub that making a backup from NAND and SD, formatting and restoring these backups work. Anyone who can confirm this? THX
