Well, lets see. I use both windows and linux.
Neither really outperforms the other. It really depends on what you need in terms of programs and software.
Windows allows for itunes, steam, and most AAA software.
Linux has many free open source programs and software.
I start all my projects in linux and always finish them on windows. (As most users are on windows)
Linux is lightweight, fast, opensource, easily moddable, and beautiful.
Windows is user friendly, program base full, customizable, (well windows 10 anyway)
Mostly bug free, (unlike linux which is full of bugs)
Great for grandma and other keyboard peckers, and great looking on touch tablets.
I prefer linux myself but cant go without windows. So its hard to compare them in terms of an OS as for what I use them for I need both.
