no, it should let you access others urls.
be sure not to block account.nintendo.net which is needed by some application to launch (netflix for example).

Try using the tubehax dns instead of OpenDS dns IP.

Thank you Cyan! That was so much easier than using OpenDNS. I feel dumb for being how easy it is to use tubehax DNS instead :P

Excellent tutorial, but the website has changed a bit for the step 1. Thanks so much, now my wii u is too save, now waiting for the exploit for the firmware 5.5.0 :)

Are only the wii u updates blocked? Is it possible to update games like mk8 or splatoon?

I tried OpenDNS as well as tubehax but when I try to access the internet I just simply can't. I can connect to my router just fine but when it tries to connect to the internet it fails.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Do you have an ISP issued DNS that you're supposed to be using?

If you want to download game updates but block system updates, you should use the TubeHax DNS instead of OpenDNS.
it allows eshop access and transaction, then you can download the bought item as long as there's no "blocked update" in the download queue.

If you have a blocked update, go to the download queue and unplug the power cord (or keep power pressed, it should work too). On next launch, only the bought item will be listed in the queue and download will start.

You know I honestly don't know, haha. I'm not too knowledgeable about this stuff so that might be the case.

Hm. If that is the case then the only option you really have is either blocking via router parental controls or using CCProxy

Hey guys, I just bought my new Wii U today and... She's on 5.4.0 !
So now, what should I do to get the "complete" hack ?

And, can I link my old NNID without updating my console or no ? :(

EDIT: On my last Wii U, this tuto didn't work for me... Or i've done something wrong...

Yes, if you're referring to vWii
Yes, type "WUPInstaller" into the search bar
What didn't work about it? Did it fail on you or did it just never work in the first place?

It depends on what firmware you're on. If you're on 5.3.2 or 5.4, then you have WUPInstaller and can spoof to the latest firmware and play online. Otherwise you're stuck and would need to update the console to play online

Do I need to use OpenDNS? Can I not just block the domains through my router settings?
I went into my router firewall settings and entered in all the domains, but I have no idea if it works and if it doesn't work (since I'm on 5.5.0), I don't want it to update on me :(

I'm in tubehax for now...I just wanna know if that will properly block the domains so I can get off tubehax and still go online to play games w/ my friends

Yes, you can, and if you are able to it is 100% recommended that you do. OpenDNS is simply for those who can't access router settings and want more control than TubeHaxx provides. If you blacklisted all of the URLs in the OP, you should be good to go

Really ? Why not just disabled the update like turn off the network?
