Hacking Translation of japanese games

Many japanese PSP games have no English version.

I would like to know if translations of PSP games exist.
There is a topic for DS games, but I did not find a topic for PSP games.

I would like to see translations for some games.

VC:3 and Digimon World: Redigitize translations are the only ones I'm aware of. Frankly is sucks that the PSP translation scene is non-existent compared to the DS Translation scene. I guess it's like that because of the lack of editing tools for PSP UMDs, difficulty setting up hacking teams together, too time consuming, and not enough local fan base to justify translating them.

The whole translation scene is awful when games that already exist in English on other platforms don't just get the script copied in. Take La Pucelle Tactics (PS2) and La Pucelle Ragnarok (PSP). Probably about 90% of the translation is available in the script files from the PS2 game and yet due to unpacking, repacking and location issues nothing gets attempted.

Although there are some pretty competent hackers working the PSP ( http://skybladecloud.wordpress.com/miscellany-2/tales-of-destiny-2-psp-compression-system/ ) as others said they are few and far between.

Likewise I am not sure what goes in China- DS translation is huge (way bigger than any English "scene" for any console) and I see the odd thing happening there but I have never really looked into it properly.

hey if you are willing to look through the chinese boards there are quite a number of projects on the go. As to tools - there is enough to get you where you need to go.
if you can follow the chinese guides you will not have a problem.
the thing is though I never did 7th dragon for the psp. just the ds. I only stopper due to legal interference.
Oh and elminage 2 for the psp can be done. a lot of the text is in semi packed (as in a container file with) csv files in it. Image wise I haven't really taken a look... as I was hoping to get more of the ds version done first.

Just like elminage gothic... From a quick look not a big deal to work. same thing container files...
seriously same principles apply from all the other systems hacking... I don't see why there has to be a big deal over this.

As should have been completely obvious from the rest of that message, it was a typo for La Pucelle Ragnarok. Why would i be comparing the English script from one game to a completely different one on the PSP?

okay slight update I have done some work on Elminage 2 graphically and text wise. Oh and a patch for elminage original is very do-able. (in fact not that far away actually). the down side to this is that I can only test via emulator - my psp is giving me trouble with testing...
As in I can do graphics easy and up to a certain point for the fix with elminage orig... but that is it. I am tempted to look into other games but with all the other crap I am doing It would not be a good idea...
like ore no dungeon... easy to find text fairly little graphic work... sigh...

Tbh I've looked into it... but the english letters l o o k l i k e t h i s when edited and it isn't easy to fit the strings on the screen without some extra coding.
I'd love to see it done as well.

It was made by the team here: http://akatranslations.wikispaces.com/Way+of+the+Samurai+Portable
But they left it on megaupload, which is long dead.

I'm just looking for the patch, not a rom or anything.
