Hacking thinking of picking up a new 3ds

What are the chances of me finding one that I can use with my gateway flashcart. Are they shipping with fw that's too high now?

Would the majoras mask 3dsxl have FW below 9.2?
I don't know if special editions got a second volume. Maybe look around a bit to find out which 3ds has the highest chance to be below 9.2 (I would say it but i have no clue)

If not then try shopping in the trading section once you get 100 posts or go on Ebay and spend a ton of money on a verified low firmware 3ds.

Edit: Or screw it and go with Sky3ds.

I have ordered two from Amazon and both have been 9.0. Since they just stock them and send them first come (and since prices are above retail) most seem older. Considering you can usually still save tax it is still cheaper than going to walmart

Then I swap motherboard with another 9.0 black I had

I bought mine from Dell last week.
I got 9.0.2

They do free returns so no problems.

I also purchased a white New 3DS from Amazon about 3 weeks ago and it was 9.0.

Walmarts and targets are a good bet. They're typically willing to let you look through them and check the serial numbers.
