oh great, no surprise there, everything these days has a multiplayer tacked on even if it doesn't need it.

What's wrong with Multiplayer? Nobody forces you to play with others, there's no reason to complain. You get an additional mode for the game that, if executed well, may extend its shelf life substantially.

Singleplayer games last as long as finishing them takes - Multiplayer games last as long as there are other players to play them with.

Well not that that comment is directed towards me but if isn't executed well the time should be used in extending the single player. Well since it is Naughty Dog I hope it might be a last man standing kind of MP or have a ton of fun modes. I don't want just a FFA or Team Deathmatch.

Bioshock Infinite is going to have no multiplayer component so maybe it will lead to less and less games having MP.

This game looks interesting and having multiplayer never hurts a game...unless you're forced to use it.
