Are .elf files booting now ?
That's not a HBC problem, but a homebrew one.
.elf files are working IF they are compiled correctly, which is not the case for most of them, so ask their author to correct the file compilation with .elf, or ask for a .dol

Some (very few) .elf are working right now, because they already used correct compiling code.
For those not good, you will still need to recompil or convert them to .dol

I also auto-updated just fine.

Now working on downgrading from 3.4 to 3.2, had some probs with homebrew channel, didn't look online and thought maybe I needed to update the system menu, ended up being my son messed with the system and took out the SD card lol. I normally wouldnt even mess with downgrading but I occassionally use the DVD mplayer.

beta 9 had "broken" update feature

You don't need to use the TP to install HBC10..... just make a folder in the apps/hbc/boot.dol and execute it via HBC9

So, excuse me the dumb question: is it safe to update to 1.01 through an old beta installation of HBC? I am not connected to the net at all and haven't got the Zelda hack.

Can I just run the .dol like a normal app? No duplicate HBC or stuff like that? Do i have to write an xml file/add an icon or i can launch the .dol anyway?

Thanks!

PS if that's the case, maybe the dol should have come already packaged that way, since I assume there's plenty of people upgrading from an older version... then again, maybe everybody is auto-updating and I'm the only one not connected... oh well

if you update, it just overwrites the existing installation! So no duplicate channels lol
Also i tried sending the .dol over tcp load, and it just gives a black screen, so i guess you better go get Zelda and do the manual TP Hack again, or use the net to auto update if it lets you, mine didn't on beta9, but it did say autupdate was broken!

lachinay: the easiest way is running the boot.dol from HBC8 or HBC9.

it will update your current HBC version to version 1.0.1.

you don't need zelda or the internet.
