Thanks for the great guide! I've got USB Loader GX working now. I am using a 128 GB Sandisk Ultra Fit flash drive. This only works on the rear top USB port. If I try it anywhere else, USB Loader just sticks on "waiting for USB". If I keep it in the top rear port and want to add a regular USB hard drive for Wii U backups, do I need to have the Y-cable for that one wrap around so one plug is in the back and one plug is in the front?

Did restore.py work successfully without errors?
Get the correct .app file from somewhere else. You must've overwritten the old .app file with the loader.

Okay, so I'm having a weird problem. Now, I've followed this guide before, and it worked for me. I've even reinstalled the Homebrew Channel before as well. So, last night, New Years Eve, I went to a party and took the Wii U with me and I lost my SD Card at the party. No problem, as I've got a few of them lying around. However, I had moved the Homebrew channel to the SD card, I don't remember why... Needless to say, I need to reinstall the homebrew channel.

Anyways, I followed all the steps here to install the Homebrew Channel with Smash Bros., but instead of being given the option to install the HBC as I did twice before, I get a message saying that there is no vulnerable IOS.
What the heck did I do now and how do I fix it?

Edit: Never mind. I have no idea why it didn't work yesterday, but it worked fine this morning.

Is there any way to set up vWii to skip the health and safety splash screen?

Probably. But is there a hack right now? Nah. I have no idea how it's done.

Well, I finally hack my vwii using this guide and works great. Thanks very much.
But I have a some questions.

Why block the system updates and what is the risk if I dont do this right?
What is the best way to do that?
What happens if I want to by some game on the wii u shop or if some new disc game ask me for update?

It doesn't mention to do that via vWii, but I'll go ahead and answer your questions anyways. More info on the Wii U Hacking Guide, BTW. (or you can use FlimFlam's Wii U Hacking Guide on GitHub)

    1. The Wii U can patch exploits if updated. This includes the vWii, but Nintendo has no reason to update the vWii nowadays. If you don't do it right, you'll just be updated. No biggie.

    2. You block the system updates by using a special DNS or setting your router up to block Nintendo's URLs. Here's a guide on how to do just that. (and it's up to date, too)

    3. Version spoofing! You're probably on the latest version, so you don't need to worry about it, but, yeah!

You probably won't need to block system updates unless you're messing with stuff on the Wii U side, though.

I just messed up the vwii as you correctly guessed.
My intention is just to be able to play gamecube games.

Thanks for giving such a complete answer, I'll check the links.

skip the health and safety screen entirely, no, it's part of the system menu.
on the wii, there were a patch done by Priiloader to automatically press A to skip it quickly, but not skipped entirely.

Hello, I installed the game Resident Evil Zero for GameCube and when I open it directly through the Nintendont menu it works perfectly, but it runs out of video if I open it through LoaderGX. The game runs, I hear the sounds of the intro and the menus when I press the control buttons, but everything goes with black screen. All other games I can open through LoaderGX which is much more convenient, and they work perfectly, but Resident Evil Zero does not.

There is any way to configure loaderGX to not change the settings of this game made by Nintendont and to use the same ones that are used when I open the game directly from Nintendont?

Yes. I've tried loads of portable HD's and none work without a power supply. Also anyone know if a Y Cable will work on the front 2 ports as well? Cuz I'd like to have an HD plugged into the back for Wiiu games and a Y Cable infront for vWii. And what's the name again of that app that'll let ya have 2 USB's plugged in and not be forced to manage?
