Atlus will be publishing Caligula, a Japanese PlayStation Vita title as The Caligula Effect in North American and Europe on May 2, 2017. The game's story is written by Shin Megami Tensei series veteran Tadashi Satomi, who was behind games such as Persona 1, 2, and Brave Story: New Traveler. The game features over 500 recruit-able characters to use in combat, as they try to escape a virtual world. The game will release as a digital-only PlayStation Vita title.

They're a Japanese dev, known for just making games of anime. Their most well known title at this point would be Legend of Legacy for 3DS.

As most super niche anime games are, no, Legend of Legacy appears to be the only one that got taken west.

    NO COFFEI!
Damn this looks really cool. If it's good this is definitely getting a play. Man the framerate though.

I'm glad it got localized, but I was hoping for a PS4 port. Looking at the framerate from the video, it desperately needed one.

Well the framerate problem sucks for people who can't overclock the system with henkaku. But you are right though, if the framerate was gonna be a issue, ps4 would be better even for having the pro boost mode, maybe even New 3DS would be better. :P

But this is a new release so it will require firmware 3.63+. Henkaku is 3.60. But there might be a possibility to use the language files from this one with the previous japanese release

Oh god Furyu. Those jerks who made Unchained Blades.

    Warning: Spoilers inside!

What is Furyu's particular involvement? If Furyu ports this Caligula game to a Nintendo console, please remember to switch the X button to the A button this time! (They didn't do it for Unchained Blades)

Edit: Ah Furyu is just the publisher for the japanese release. Phew. Good good!
