Game Name: DragonBall Z - Extreme Butoden
Developer/Publisher: Bandai Namco
Release: 20 October 2015
Genre: Fighting

Does it have lots of text?
No text, only voice dubs needs to be 'translated/speaken' (also menu voices)

Why I don't think this will come out in the West?
It is pretty weird that Bandai Namco only translated it into English, but left the Japanese voices intact

What is it about?

DragonBallZ fighting game, need to explain more? :)

Popularity in Japan:

It's popular everywhere around the world!

Why I think it needs to be translated?
Changing the Japanese dubs into English. Many people (like me) does not like the Japanese voices.
I rather have the English voices.

What I can do to help:

I can help finding voice samples of other DBZ games to make it fit.

The legality of translating games is blurry enough as it is, but adding sound bites makes it even more likely to be liable to sue.

Also, is this really necessary? Do we really need Goku's grunts and taunts to be in English?

If fans have a voice that is close to the characters, then that might also be an option :)

I rather have the English voices yes. I never liked the woman/kid voice of Goku. Everybody has his/her own opinion.

Also please note that when you're INSIDE the menu, there are japanese voices.

I just didn't understand why Bandai Namco didn't do the English dubs...

I think this is the same " suable" (???) than a commons translation .. editing games at start is illegal, right? XD

I rather have the English voices yes. I never liked the woman/kid voice of Goku. Everybody has his/her own opinion.
the nice is that is if I want udub for non niche game (Smahs bros for example) I'm an weeaaboo and shoud be happy with the nice English dub blahblah, play only with Marth since I love japanese this much blahblah , but when someone want a "dub" for something not dubbed is opinion? oh great xp
I'm mad with this because a time ago I was looking for brawn unbud and what I get was treads of request and these kind of answer :P at end I ended getting the japanese game lol
noting against you having preferences for dubs , I think it is a thing that NEED to be an option (having both undub and dub) in every game that have this work ...

But well, anime games in general I think that enter on the " niche "games ,this is why is hard for them to dub these days? messing with this kind of stuff is hard to get help (unless there are a bunch of fans like inazuma eleven that are up enough to change backs the names and voices ...), so well I recommend you to look for help in the niche, I mean, bd foruns and stuff? something like this ...
I remind looking for star fox assault undub and all I find was another guy wanting to do it but without idea how to xDD

Genre: Dating Sim

Does it have lots of text?
Judging from the Love Plus game for the nds, the game has a fair amount of text but the text is repetitive, so...
Why I don't think this will come out in the West?
Not much audience for this to be profitable in the US?
What is it about?
A nice warm dating simulator. The NDS game had interesting features, the 3DS game takes it to the next level
Popularity in Japan:
Not sure but there have been 4 games in this series so...

Does it have lots of text?
the game has a story & dialogues.

Why I don't think this will come out in the West?

no past version of this game has been published by either NoE or NoA,
perhaps copyright issues and too niche to be localized out of Japan.

What is it about?
a really cute and fun 3DS Simulator & Rhythm Game featuring a cross-over
/ collaboration between characters from J-Pop Idol Anime & Game franchises
'PriPara' and 'Pretty Rhythm'. From Syn Sophia, the same company that brought
us the popular Girls Mode / Style Savvy / New Style Boutique games.

with a lot of fashion unlocking and customization options and also really entertaining
during the Rhythm portion of the game with catchy J-Pop Idol music tunes.

Game name: Cardfight!! vanguard lock on victory

Developer/Publisher: furyu

Release: June 6 2014

Genre: tcg simulation

Does it have lots of text?
Yes the story has a bit of text and so do the cards involved.

Why I don't think this will come out in the West?
Furyu decided not to bring this outside of japan when the first game came out so they will not release this one.

What is it about?
The story follows the plot of season 3 of the anime but from different views depending on the school you choose. You play the card game to go through the story and gain cards and avatars along the way. You start off trying to win a high school championship when soon after you have to fight the new threat about to destroy earth.

Why I think it needs to be translated?
I would like to understand the story and I think those who do not know what cards do but seem interested or do not know how to use specific skills the translation would help them. Also the menu on the start of the game or pause menu as well as the in battle menu would help to know what is being asked at what points.

What I can do to help:
I can provide almost all the translations for the cards as I have played a lot and know what they do. I also found a site which has images of translated menu parts (provided above). I can also give character names and names of places they visit and booster pack and trial deck names. Also names of the original game characters.

Game Name: Inazuma Eleven GO Neppu
Developer/Publisher: Level 5
Release: 13 december 2012
Genre: Sports

Does it have lots of text?
according to my brother yes,
Why I don't think this will come out in the West?
Because strangely "people in the west" don`t like anime games
What is it about?
The story begins following the competition of the Holy Road soccer tournament. Tenma returns to Raimon Junior High, but finds that things have changed. The Raimon soccer team members are not soccer players. In fact, there is no soccer club at the school. Shinsuke is in a different club from Tenma. Is this a parallel world? Tenma wonders. That's when Alpha appears before him.

A future organization called El Dorado is an organization formed by the future world's countries to deal with important matters of world affairs, and for some reason, they've determined that soccer must be destroyed. To do so, they have assigned Alpha and his team, Protocol Omega the mission of ridding soccer from the world.

To help Tenma out, Fei Rune, someone from the same future as El Dorado, comes to help him save soccer and defeat El Dorado. The Inazuma Caravan from Inazuma Eleven GO makes a comeback as a flying time machine. As Tenma begins his journey to save soccer, he must learn how to master keshin armed, a technique where one's keshin becomes a form of armor, and Mixi Maxing, where through the Mixi Max gun, two people's auras can combine.

Game Name: Cardfight!! Vanguard: Lock on Victory!!
Developer/Publisher: FuRyu’s (it's hard to find the details for this game without knowing japanese)
Release: June 6, 2014
Genre: Card Battle

Does it have lots of text?
Yes and No. Not nearly as much as an RPG, but there will be lots of cards to translate and a basic storyline.
Why I don't think this will come out in the West?
This is the second game in the series, and the first one received no english translation, plus the game has been out for nearly two years..
What is it about?
It's based on an anime about a trading card game. The first game or second game would work, however the second has more cards.. It's just about going to tournements and dueling other people.
Popularity in Japan:
It's relatively popular because of the anime and trading card game. It's not quite yugioh tier however.

Why I think it needs to be translated?
The card game is not nearly as popular in america. Not only would this help to raise it, but people who are fans of the card game have almost no one to play with. Having computers would be a huge benefit to those of us who are fans of the game.
What I can do to help:
Unfortunately not much. I'd gladly help test, but I don't know Japanese and i'm a novice coder.

edit: I'm really sorry! I didn't realize someone else posted this game, especially so soon before me.. ahh.. i'll leave it up just so you guys know it's loved ^.^

Well, yes. It's an RPG- tactical, after all.

Why I don't think this will come out in the West?
Banpresto-Namco Bandai said that it was planed only for japanese audiences, and never bring it to america or europe, so is impossible.

What is it about?
the main feature of the franchise is having a story that crosses over several popular mechaanime, manga and video games, allowing characters and mecha from different titles to team up or battle one another.

Popularity in Japan:
Famitsu awarded the game 8/9/8/8 (33/40)

Game Name: Taiko no Tatsujin: Don to Katsu no Jikuu Daibouken
(Taiko Drum Master: Don and Katsu's Adventures through Time and Space)
Developer/Publisher: Bandai Namco
Release: June 26th, 2014
Genre: Rhythm Game with RPG elements

Does it have lots of text?
Yes. Unlike most of the other Taiko no Tatsujin games, this one has a story mode, albeit in very simple Japanese.

Why I don't think this will come out in the West?
Bamco hasn't released an English Taiko game since Taiko Drum Master on the PS2. Even if by some miracle this game were released in English, almost all of the songs would be changed and it'd be an entirely different game, and actually trying to license the sheer number of Japanese songs this game has would blast the budget out of the water.

What is it about?
For the most part it's a rhythm game, but the story mode is about Don and his twin brother Katsu going on adventures after a strange portal opens up and teleports them to the past, where they meet Nobunaga. Antics ensue.

Popularity in Japan:
Although I don't know how popular this specific title is, the Taiko games are extremely popular. This game even has more DLC songs than songs that come on the cart.

Why I think it needs to be translated?
I personally want to work on this project, and hell will freeze over before Scamco releases this game in English.

What I can do to help:
As the Japanese is simple, I can do some translation work. I can also do image editing and translation. It's the hacking that's the problem. I haven't been able to decrypt the game or even get access to the files.

Game Name: Corpse Party Blood Covered:... Repeated Fear (also known as "Corpse Party" in America)
Developer/Publisher: Team GrisGris and 5pb
Release: July, 30, 2015
Genre: Adventure, Survival Horror, Visual Novel

Does it have lots of text?
Yes.

Why I don't think this will come out in the West?
This game was released for the PSP years ago and the First version will come to PC this year to the west BUT, only in English, it has never been released or translated to Spanish.
Also the 3DS version of the game is not known if is going to be seen outside of japan...

What is it about?
Its an adventure game based on role games style of exploration, with great plot, pure psychological horror, amazing sound effects to give more emphasis to the horror situations. The plot is about a group of stundents that after perfoming a ritual with charm to be friends forever, got trapped on a hellish school without a clue of how they got there, and try to scape alive and resolve the mistery behind the school of heavenly host.

The gameplay is basicaly reading story like a visual novel can be, but you have to explore the halls of the school like an RPG, you can get items to progress the story and take crucial decisions, depending on the decisions you will take an ending, most of the endings are BAD Endings or also called Wrong Ends. The endings are fixed in each chapter, so is not a game that you have to restart entirely to have another ending.
The story is divided in 5 Main Chapters with a duration of 2-5 hours each, and 13 Extra chapters that las 10-20 minutes each. And have some collectables like the IDs of other stundents who died in the cursed school.

Popularity in Japan:
9/10
(This game has been remaked, adapted to PC and other systems, have more than 5 Principal Games (but are not as good as this). Also got an Anime Adaptation (I dont liked... because got very diferent from the game, and spoils everythin from start) and a Live Action Movie. So is quiet popular)

This game was released before in english for the PSP, most of the text is the same and could be used to make a good translation to SPANISH, I would like this game to be translated its because it has never been translated or released to spanish, it would be good for spain speakers to have the game translated to it, peopled liked and loved the game, others dont known about it, others just watched the anime adaptation (that got a way VERY DIFFERENT from the main story) and saddly not many people try to play it by they own because the lots of text on english. Its an amazing survival horror game, I never got so thrilled by text and sprites in 16 bits, the music is great, the sound effects... oh my god they are so good, it gives you a mental image of how a man got their guts openen when you only see a black screen, its not a game that try to scare you with jump scares, it will not try to just put a dead body in front of you (it does but not in a gory way like the anime did). This is the charm of the game, the characters are lovely, you can sympatize and feel sorry for their situations (most of them...).
I hope to see this game on spanish since I played it years before, but never found a way to help, I tried by myself to do it... but I didn't know how... I just was left with the motivation...
The psp version could be translated BUT the 3DS version is more recent, have new content, and is the most popular handheld console at the moment, have more improvements like more polished sprites, 3D effect in some parts, less blurry effect, and 60 fps.

NOTE: The start of the game is quite low, and its hard to like it just finishing the first chapter, I have finished the game at least 5 times, and the 1st chapter is tedious to me, but the rest are just GOOD like REALLY GOOD, the bad endings on chapter 2 can take your sleep, the story developement of chapter 4 its fantastic, and trying to get the TRUE Ending on the final chapter without getting bad endings (without guides of course) its more like an achivement.

What I can do to help:
Im and spanish speaker, and I undestand very well english (Im better reading than writing it...), and I cant translate mostly of the text to spanish using as base the text from the PSP game, also I know basic programation logic I could learn the way to insert text if someone instruduce me to it or other things on the modding team.

It might be easier to get help with this on the PSP translation forum because the PSP version's already received fan translations to other languages (like Italian) and the 3DS version hasn't had any progress in inserting text into the game.

The sprites of the 3DS version are better looking, yes, but someone's already tried to work on the 3DS version with help from others and it never took off. Not to mention no one even knows if it can even handle Latin alphabets without serious hacking work. It would be nice for there to be /any/ translation of CP3DS, but as of now it'll take a long time for any progress to happen.
