Super Mario Run is releasing on Android March 23rd

Nintendo of America announced earlier today via Twitter that the mobile game Super Mario Run will hit the Android marketplace on March 23rd. It's been possible to pre-register for a while now but the release date was finally announced.

According to the Tweet, the game comes with the 2.0.0 update. Like the iOS version, the game itself will be free to play... for a time. Eventually you will come to a point where you will have to pay $9.99 to continue playing the rest of the 24 levels that the game has to offer. Another thing to note is that the Android version, like the iOS version, requires you to always be online while you play.

As you wait for the game to be released, you can watch the following trailer 7,200 times. By the time you finish, the game will be released.

Dont like Touch Screen only Games. Accuracy sucks then you got all this Patter drawing crap like Mortal Kombat X has for Android. Not to mention, MKX is just random tapping BS

Actually, Nintendo's apps have had incredible accuracy. I recommend checking out Miitomo or Fire Emblem Heroes. Interacting with the interface feels natural and satisfying. That's what happens when your app actually has quality assurance.

The only reason I have games on portable devices is so I can play while on a bus/boat/plane.

Always online? And $9.99 for 24 levels? I'm sure it will sell well, but not to me.

Dude, it's literally touch the screen to jump. That's it. Mario runs by himself. What do you need buttons for?

lol no one will be able to play it anyways since almost every android phone is rooted in some way or has a non stock OS
Maybe 0,1% of Android users have a rooted phone, the number of those running a custom rom will even be way lower. Probably comparable to the amount of hacked 3ds' that are out there.
