Really sorry for the question but I really need to ask

I'm running N3ds on 10.2 with Ironhax 2.5

Is there anyway now to run FFVI on my 3ds, either by SNES or GBA or Hans (if it's possible)

Back then the game was semi working but lots of black screens and it was annoying

Thanks

There's no way to run it worth bothering with. If you had 9.2, you could probably inject it but I don't know how well it'd work out since afaict FF6 is mostly coded using duct tape and spit.

You'd be best off using a N3DS on 9.2 with kernel access and using a SNES emulator. The GBA version is shit in comparison.

Does that game work on CatSFC or other retroarch SNES emulators?

Anyways, StapleButter seems to be getting somewhere regarding games that lock up with a black screen in blargSNES, including FF3/6, which is his main test game for the issue, but when he implements a true fix, we don't know. Atm, it's probably best to just be patient.

FF3/6 SNES was really troublesome to emulate on the PSP, which is why I wasn't putting a ton of hope in it on a 3DS emulator.

Played to the same point, getting to Figaro Castle, with both CATSFC emulators and Snes9x Next. Running on N3DS 10.2 wit *hax 2.5. Audio is on, music is a must for me.

CATSFC - Apart from some minor audio pops, slight screen tearing when you move and a slowdown a battle starts its completely playable as far as I can tell. Average 59.8 fps

CATSFC Plus - Much slower at the intro but goes full speed when they talk at the cliffs and drops back down to about 30 fps. Not fun moving around. Battles are at about 59 fps.

Snes9x NEXT - Pretty much identical to CATSFC Plus. Battles however are are also 30 fps. Too brutal.

I recommend CATSFC. Has great compatibility. I've been playing some of my favorite RPGs at about 60 fps on it.

I can confirm none of the GBA ones run correctly on a N3DS XL 9.9, all emulators have problems with it, which is a shame considering it's the one with the better translations. The restored rom hack that puts better music and colours obviously doesn't work either.

You'll probably have to mess around with the SNES version and try the different emulators until it works, there are rom hacks to fix some of the issues in that version but I haven't tested to see if they work though.

It works fantastic injected with the audio and color restoration patches.
I believe there's even extra bosses and dungeons compared to the snes version, and while the viewport is shrunken down a bit, this actually fits a widescreen console like the 3ds better than a 4:3 snes display.
The only real downside is the heavy ghosting experienced when running in agb_firm.
