Gaming Sony: "Gamescon is going to be a PS Vita show"

So after dashing Vita owners hopes at E3, it seems Sony's plan all along for Vita was this August's Gamescon:

"It's all about momentum. It's about showcasing PS4 in all its glorified beauty and it's not just the console. It's about the titles, it's about the games, it's about the independent titles. It's also about PS3, it's also about PS Vita. We blew it out of the park this E3 with PlayStation 4 but PS Vita has so much more to go, we've got so much more love to show at the showcase and I can safely say Gamescom is definitely going to be a PS Vita show, so you'll see."

I'm not sure if this year's E3 was "Dashing PSVita owner's hopes" - there were quite a few games on the floor on that event, it's just that they weren't presented on-stage.

Last year was the same deal, the Vita got an E3 snub and a pretty good Gamescom showing.

Apparently Gamescom will be focused more on the PS4 and its game lineup. I'll post the source a little later.

Looking through the upcoming titles, there's actually quite a lot to look forward to - "Ys: Memories of Celecta", "Valhalla Knights 3", "Freedom Wars", "KillZone: Mercenary", "Demon Gaze", "Final Fantasy X/X-II", "Phantasy Star Online 2", "Dragon's Crown", "Worms Revolution Extreme", "Rayman Legends", "The Walking Dead", "Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate" and more. That, and whatever they're going to announce on the show itself (as it does seem they're going to).
