I shot some videos of my 3DS sorry quality isnt the best all i have is a sony digital camera plus i had to hold the cam while working the 3DS . All translating was done by a buddy of mine

nope, you can view the current state of the game on the top screen(toggle between top, bottom, or both screens visible)
but that image is lost as soon as you resume or close the game.

there is also no messaging system for people on your friends list which is stupid . maybe in a firmware update?

pretty sure this is not true , pretty much all it did was add the video like the first japanese update did
