Gaming so what is the fate of 3DS?

Even Regi says the 3DS has years left on its lifespan, specially since the switch won't support street pass and you only get to rent one vc game for a month but its preselected when you have a paid account.

Seriously tho, we get like.. almost 10 new games this year, and they all look pretty neato, Yoshi wolly world (yeah ok, it's a port but shh), Dragon quest, Mario Sports, Lady layton, etc...
And even if it dies soon, we'll keep the 3DS alive, with our ~shitty~ homebrew apps, hacks and all that fancy stuff.

Also im pretty sure nintendo now only sees miiverse as a smelly pile of cringe and drawings (hence the fact that it fortunately wont be on the switch.)

I prob wont get the switch in a while...

getting around the paid online probably isnt going to be a thing because its most likeley a server side thing. if your account dosent have the membership logged into said server, then it wont let you online.and if we even had remote access to their servers, we could spoof our own eshop cards. even with nintendos shit security, i find this a bit far-fetched.

We don't know yet. Maybe they'll do something like the ambassador program, (3ds) where you'll get a few games for each past-gen system on VC or maybe the free service (five months) is the ambassador program...maybe a combo of both? I doubt they'll give people free monthly titles, unless they were titles that were re-released multiple times, cough S/NES Mario, coughweezcough; I'm also guessing it won't cost as much, either....unless they have multi-tiers, (bronze, silver, gold, platinum) in which case, it probably would be like PS+.

the switch will be at 400 bucks.

A dollar (as of now) is 21.75 pesos.

Every time something about mexico comes out of trump's mouth,the dollar becomes more expensive,not because the dollar becomes more powerful (Au contraire),the peso just becomes weaker.

So by april,the peso will probably be around 25 pesos.

i havent checked,but im pretty sure the wii board is still alive.

The Wii U came out in 2012 and nintendo discontinued the Wii for good in 2014...


So,lets say that the 3DS has 4 years planned.

We still have 6 years worth of internet,if they choose to follow the same pattern that they did with the ds and the wii (and lets face it,they probably will)

Well I've got a preordered system and games, I'll be picking up shovel Knight and Mario Kart 8 when they come out. I plan on using it as my main system until I buy a new laptop which could take months to save for.

Ummm, do tell how (assuming you NEED one) you'll drop ~$4-500 in all for Switch but cannot afford a $5-600 laptop??

My thoughts are honestly, what's going to be better about the DS? Battery life on the go, and big maybe on size. All N has to do is sell us some $100 battery bulge and that could well end the DS line if they get proper development going in top gear for the switch.

I'm still on the fence on jumping on launch or waiting it out a couple months to see what's up, and I did just get a 3DS (black friday) so with Luma out on 11.2 I have much of perusing to do as far as games go.

I think the 3DS has a couple of years before you can call it "Dead".
The switch came to replace the Wii U and add some portability but nothing else, the 3DS still has some way to go, I'd give it 3-5 more years until it loses it's popularity.
