I been hoping this would go around but when I googled it there was only two results, one for the original thread and one for a GC homebrew forum with only one reply. I tried to register to WiiBrew to add at least a link to it but I can't get past the captcha. I tried posting the answer that was posted in this forum but it still didn't work. Can someone add this to the WiiBrew wiki? It seems it still has activity. The message board seems dead so I ain't gonna bother registering for it. Thanks. Spread the MSU-1 emulator!

Just tested. Very good. I just wanted the sound effects become a little more louder, sometimes I can not hear them using MSU-1 music.
That's because your music files are too loud. Long story short, the SD2SNES used to be too quiet so people cranked up the volume on the files to compensate. Now that the original problem is fixed, the music is way too loud. I'm working on fixing all of the loud files, but it's a long process: https://www.zeldix.net/t1265-fixing-all-of-the-too-loud-audio-packs-for-good

Well, this emulator deserved it's own thread. I think that other thread is about the WiiU port? I wanted people to know MSU-1 is now supported on Wii.

Getting a bit of crackling and maybe loud audio with Super Metroid MSU-1, but otherwise it works great!

The discussion there is only about the Wii port, and the last posts talk about the MSU-1 support and their respective tests. Since there is no final release yet (save state breaks MSU audio), that's why there's no separate thread yet.

so, that link doesn't go to the GX (Wii) version, just to SNES9X

am i missing something here, sorry for noobishness

and while i'm at it, let me list what i think i need and see if i'm right

1. ALttP rom, patched with the ips file that allows MSU
2. the actual soundtrack (folder of .pcm files)
3. SNES9XGX with MSU-1 support

how do i know if my SNES9XGX has msu-1 support and what new folders and stuff do i need?

does MSU-1 support on Wii still pop and crack, does it still make non-MSU-1 games audio pop and crack?

thanks for the help, or if this questions been answered before thanks for links to answers!

got it set up with the help of this page

https://www.reddit.com/r/romhacking..._help_with_msu_1_games_support_for_snes9x_gx/

downloaded the .dol file from a comment on this page

then renamed it boot.dol works like a charm!
