Hacking Sky3ds - smash bros online - this game card can not play online??

I am just learning about all this myself, appears sky3ds has a template file that tries to inject header support automatically? If so, I would try to inject a header on your own with gateway rom patcher v1.0, should be easy enuf to find and use. there are great tutorial threads on gbatemp for it. this 1.0 from what I understand can insert a public header for you...and then try it on a untrimmed rom, I am guessing you are using a scene rom? is your sky3ds the original or blue button?

Again, not sure where you heard this. I've played Smash and Pokemon perfectly fine online.

gateway did actually tell everyone to update to 9.0-9.2 and wait there quite a while before 9.3 was released....problem is people who where waiting for their n3ds to arrive from japan etc.....or just slow to respond people, but hey look at it this way anyone on 1.0-7.x can update to 8.1 via a game card and gateway have already said they will be providing support for 8.1 too, for people who dont want/like gateway there is sky3ds which doesn't require any sort of "update via retail card" solution.....choose your poison

If SKY3DS emulates a real game card, then shouldn't you just be able to download the latest Smash Bros patch from the eShop? Logically speaking, my physical copy of Smash Bros should run the same as the ROM on SKY3DS, at least in the way that the game detects the patch.

this is true, i downloaded the alpha sapphire update directly from eshop and it works. also ran game with dlc downloaded via eshop and that worked to. updates and dlc from the eshop and anything else download to system data on your 3ds. if you are 'afraid' something might happen, again it doesn't touch the cart, so you can literally remove the cart and then update via eshop.

anyway, trimming roms is bad, with both gateway, sky, and all their clones. so just never trim 3ds roms, delete your trim software. its also possible you got a bad rom.

so, in short, so re-acquire the rom, from a different location, while you have your 3ds download the latest smash4 3ds update from the eshop.

put it together, and tell us if it still doesn't work.

i learned, for going online, the part it uses is in the template, so if you game a bad rom, or can't find a good rom, you can change the online access by replacing the hex's with the ones of another 3ds games with working online access.

its about 100x more likly that him having trimmed the rom is what killed online access. remember at is base, a trimmed rom, is just removing things from the game that shouldn't be needed. so things can go wrong nomatter how much you wish them not to. i learned my lesson from years of psp and wii game, now i just don't even download trimming ware. its not worth the headache.

if his results after new rom + eshop update for the game come back as still can't go online, then we can maybe look into a actual solution

wireless / online not working is a (possible) side effect of trimmed roms, along with cutscenes being total garbage, AMV's and FMV's playing at like 3FPS, long loading times, and an array of other dumb problems.

if you reinstal the super smash bros rom with the header from template file 13/12/2014,then you can play online or it needs the be banned by nintendo but for now it works

I had this issue with Mario golf. I fixed it by using the old original version of diskwriter and original template. Being a new game it may not be in older templates but try older diskwriter

I tried a non trimmed version already. No success. My wifi is fine. Can connect to the eshop, etc. Latest update. Downloaded the update for the game.

AS I SAID ALREADY, its just a bad rom. i can confirm this. try getting it from a diffrent site. either that, or you got unlucky and both your downloads got corrupt in the process, so just try again.

The game card was removed. this appears after you have run the games, but before it loads. it tells you to push the home button.

this has corrupted before for me, but as far as i'm aware, this is not a corruptor. you can push the home button and it will return you to the main menu. i have not yet had this cause the 0mb bug. the card's change game button acts a bit wierd after you get this error, but usually around 12 pushes later, everything returns to normal. you can also possibly restart the system, or it has been reported, go into system options and leave. its the same as rebooting but faster. as far as i know, this is only cause by having a bad rom, or a bad download, and has no major side effects. just delete the rom, re aquire the game, and try again.
