    Hi All

    I will be getting a WII U for Christmas and was wondering if it has a SD card slot and can you connect a hdd an how do you connect it

    the wii U has an SD card slot(i think it is mostly for wii mode for now)

    and 4 usb ports(2 front, 2 back)

    you can use a USB HDD BUT you need to power it or use a USB y-cable

    the HDD is LINKED to the wii U is is formated for.
    it kinda like how the ps3's internal HDD is

    Sorry if this is obvious but I want to be 100% sure: no USB HDD's like these would work?:

    It absolutely HAS to be a drive that's powered from mains or a Y cable?

    the hdd need a dedicated power source



    that one may work with a y-cable, but it mat not work as well
