I can only tell you that it should be possible since I've done this myself, but it was like a year ago and I don't remember the details.. It's in the main menu and you have to have added him in some way.

I have him added, it's just it doesn't give me the option to connect to his lobby.

I don't think I understand what situation you're in. It sounds to me like you're trying to get the ROM on your flashcard working, and that your ROM works in your DS emulator..

He's not using ROM and flashcart. He has got original game cartridge and Action Replay. ROM (downloaded from internet) is only for generating AR code, because he isn't able to dump his own copy of the game. And generated code is not working with that game on cartridge. I think he downloaded modified or "not really clean" ROM.

@dmoeenm maybe for the start you should try with another ROM, from different source.

The rom you have gotten should work, but actually when I think about it MKDS has problems with wfc when being used on emulator so you're better off trying another game. Right off the bat, I remember Sega all stars racing and Sonic Colors to work on emulator.

As said earlier, I know for a fact that I've played with people with your same setup so it should work. Unfortunately, since I don't have it myself I can't go much into detail explaining you. You might be able to find help on the rizon chat of altwfc which you can find a link to on the bottom of their page:

The place where he got the ROM has good dumps so that really shouldn't be the issue. I suspect it having to do with the action replay code he's inserting. They're specific for region so if you're trying to use an (U) cartridge then you should use the (U) ROM to generate the code. This should be obvious, though.

It's been some time since I used the emulator myself, so I don't remember the settings exactly, but you'll find it with a bit of try and fail. I seem to remember that you have to run it with admin rights. I can give it a try now to see if I get anywhere with it but I'm not sure my internet permits me, since I'm using my dorm's and it has some restrictions...

So it should work, if the game is original, and the ROM is clear, good dump. There are four posibilities - something is wrong with game cartridge / ROM / Action Replay or program generates wrong AR Code.

this is not going to work because there are now now ways to download the files for windows xp none of the service packs or any thing can be found

It's possible since I tried it myself last year, but it's kind of a hassel if you've never set up a virtual desktop before. Plus, I guess getting the files can be difficult.

Anyways, have you tried making cheats yourself on your AR and tested them to see if they work yet?

Do you have the service pack for windows xp I could get it working if I had that and no I have not made my own ar codes I don't know how and I just got the action replay

I don't have the service pack installer, since I used a disc with sp3, I think. I think you might've misunderstood when I said add your own code because it is exactly what you are doing with the altwfc code you generate. To put my advice of troubleshooting in different words, try to find an AR code online (they are everywhere) and add it yourself and see if you got it to work. This way you'll know that it's not you putting in the code wrong.

Sorry for not coming back to you earlier. Anyways I tried setting up desmume wifi where I live and it didn't work, but luckily I'm home so I can try to check if I get it work as I did before.

About codes I can give you the mario kart codes I've used and know that work, but do remember that MKDS wfc on emulator is very unstable and it is unlikely that you'll get it to work there. I've tried myself before.

I've just tried altwfc, which was down earlier today, and I was able to play MKDS with my ds using action replay codes (the ones I provided). I wasn't able to get desmume to work with sonic colors so I'm not sure what the problem there might be.

Anyways, I found quite some people to play with so if you check in the weekends you should be able to find people.
