Quick question.

I have the game's .sav file backed up (Along with the header I use for the rom)
But I was told that this game also uses a folder in the "Nintendo 3DS" folder which is tied to the system.
Would I be able to backup the extdata with savefilemanager to backup this folder, and restore it anytime?

I just really hate games that don't use .sav files alone.

Finally got to edit my save game through reading a lot of posts related to save editing, though I'm still figuring out a lot of things on my own.
Such as being able to figure out which "offsets" to edit on my own without having to ask.

I'd like to give credit to these users as reading their posts in different threads (here and there) have been very insightful:

- lionmajor
- supermalloch
- MrFahrenheit39
- PedroDJavier (for starting this thread)
- laurocc (for the offsets)

Tweaked Lunares and Silver Coins

Would anyone be willing to share and explain the offsets to level up the "skills" (eg: dashing, mining, woodcutting).
hkihihi started a thread regarding this but no one's yet to expand it :(

Any help would be highly appreciated.

yes you can.

Is Fantasy Life really connected to a save file and an extdata folder? And I'd need both to restore my save in the future? Because I most games are backed up with a save file alone, this game doesn't warn me about saving to the SD card.

I forgot to mention, if I backup the extdata folder with savefilemanager, is this extdata folder tied to my 3DS, or can it be restored to any 3DS using SavefileManager?

for skills is used 296 byte, each skill need 8 byte, is include some unused skills. each skill is have own unique condition, if you not change some value, it will no have any effect so i advice don't maxed skills level if you don't know about extra flags. these value is related to another part ...

Code:
0x0 - 4 byte - int32 (negative number applied, so be careful) - Remaining Exp
0x4 - 1 byte - uint8 - skill level
0x5 - 1 byte - uint8 - power flag
0x6 - 1 byte - uint8 - other stat flag
0x7 - 1 byte - uint8 - sp flag

Thank you my messiah! but yet again i'm brought back to the question of why andibad isn't saying anything about his save editor. All I want is to know is why?

Hi,

Just a (dumb) question. Do I need a gateway modified 3ds to be able to edit the save file with homebrew from the sd card or can I just take the sd card out of my 3ds and decrypt/modify/encrypt my save file from pc.

All I have is an unmodified 3ds with the retail cart. Apparently, it does save to sd.

Thanks for your answers
