Heya,

Im trying to translate the Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo for PSP. Game is developed by ASCII Media Works, Netchubiori , Kadokawa Games and CriWARE, so all files has been packed in .CPK files where i successfuly unpacked.

In these packs has been files where i cant indetify (and i cant found some infos about that extensions):
  • txgtl (i think is about Texture)
  • txg (Textures i think)
  • cbg (Next textures, think Backgrounds)
  • fnt (Fonts i think)
  • awb (Some sounds)
  • cmed (looks like translation file, but not all, i found here a some strings, but now i cant identify how reading works)
  • csu (no idea)
  • loc (no idea)
  • pmf (videos)
  • rkd (probably internal file for saving data)
  • slpd (contains file addresses for .ssb files)
  • ssb (no idea)
  • tipd (string file again, but dont know how its works)
  • tmd (again strings)
  • tskd (no idea!
  • tskt (no idea)
  • adx (sounds, but not found way to open it)
  • hca (probably models)
Please, if u know how to Open or anything about this file extensions, please reply in this topic :)
Thanks :)
(BTW, its can be really anything, im programmer, so any instructions may help me :) )

I guess you can try and contact people who did other translations of psp games here for help about the file structure where are the files that need to be translated (i'm assuming you understand Japanese) as well as repacking everything

thank you for this effort, also episode 23

  • txg -> trivially encoded ARGB (can be both indexed or direct-color, both 32 or 16 bits) images. The ones I've seen are PSP-interleaced.
  • txgtl -> txg package.
  • cbg -> txgl with additional header with extra information. Used for BG images, in these files, each txg is a 32*32 BG tile.
  • ssb -> event script file, contain both game event logic and yes, also the text to translate.
  • fnt -> No-brainier. Contains both the charset and the font graphic.
  • awb -> AFS package with CRI sound files.
  • adx -> CRI sound file.
  • cmed -> comment list (I know, yeah), also has text to translate.
  • csu -> essentially, same format than cbg.
  • loc -> essentially, same format than txg. The one I decoded contained text (as image, of course). See below.
  • pmf -> right, videos.
  • rkd -> god knows, small file? 32 bit little endian small values? I don't think it's an important file.
  • slpd -> Event script file list + some small data, probably related to script configuration.
  • tipd -> Yes, contains text to translate. Pointers are probably elsewhere.
  • tmd -> Same.
  • tskd -> Same.
  • tskt -> Some kind of configuration file.
  • lbd -> Character models. See below.

wow, really thank u :) . So my todo is to translate all strings to english, so i must edit the images, but i got one question, how u Decoded that .loc file? I looked that loc files, but i didnt get any idea how to parse it :) . Please can u write me the specifications (structure) or any help about of TXG header image file? (For use in BinaryReader) Its looks like as RAW, but anyway its encoded, so i will must get a idea of the file works . Im beggining about that (Reverse Engineering, some skills at Assembler and reading files, but this is for me some hard).

So I looked at the file formats a bit and figured out most of the dat pack.

Here is a python script to unpack dat format for Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo which requires python 2.7.x to be installed:
http://filetrip.net/dl?m9ulepXpUT

Here are the details of the file format:

All numbers are in little endian format:

Bytes
0x0000-0x0003: File format header 0x47504441 "GDPA"
0x0004-0x000B: dat file size
0x000C-0x000F: number of files inside dat container

0x0010-0x0XXX: 16 bytes time number of files in dat container

0x10 bytes in each line for each file in dat container

0x00-0x03: address of start of file within dat container
0x04-0x07: unknown : all files I have looked at are all 0x0000
0x08-0x0B: length of file in dat container
0x0C-0x0F: unknown: may be a checksum ?

After the address and file size block there is a block of filenames in the following format:

0x0000-0x0004: Length of filename
0x0005-0x00XX:File name followed by "0x20"

After this header the data in the files follow.

Example can be seen here:
33wpsac.png

Bytes
0x0000-0x0003: File format header 0x47504441 "GDPA"
0x0004-0x000B: dat file size: 0x00101000
0x000C-0x000F: number of files inside dat container: 0x09000000

0x0010-0x00BF: 16 bytes time number of files in dat container 9 x 16
example:
0x0010-0x0013: 0x00080000 address in file for first file
0x0014-0x0017: 0x00000000 no idea what this is used for
0x0018-0x001B: File length - 0x08740000
0x001C-0x001F: unknown - 0xA0000000

0x00A0-0x0130: File names
example:
0x00A0-0x00B5:
0x00A0-0x00A3: Number of chars in name - 0x12000000 ie 18
0x00A4-0x00B4: Name of file: font_location.dat
0x00B5: 0x20: end of file name marker

After 0x0130 data of the files being stored in the dat container.

I hope this helps. If anyone has any questions please pmail me.

More on over, let's get back to the subject. Translating this very visualnovel. :yaypsp:

Evening! I happen to have this games scripts
The psp full game scripts

If you are capable of translating the scripts from Japanese to English then let me know because I can give you the scripts
But unfortunately you will need to find a hacker to re crack open the iso and then after wards he will need to re insert the scripts back into the game
