Hardware Running original Super Mario Galaxy on wiikey

Hi,

I have a Japanese Wii with a wiikey chip.

I want to play the original version of Super Mario Galaxy (i.e. not a backup), but I am afraid that I will in some way disable the wiikey's ability to play backups afterwards. Has anyone tried with an original?

Also, would I be able to run a US original version on my Japanese Wii, or would the region free check also trip the detection?
