RPCS3 is the world's first open-source PlayStation 3 emulator/debugger written in C++.

RPCS3 began development on May 23, 2011 and has since then progressed into a full-fledged experimental PlayStation 3 emulator and debugger for Windows and Linux written in C++. The emulator currently sports modern DirectX 12, Vulkan and OpenGL back-ends. Currently, RPCS3 is able to run a lot of 2D, and even a few simple 3D commercial games.

The emulator is completely open source and the source code can be found on the official GitHub page.

Big name titles such as Uncharted, Killzone, God of War are currently incompatible with RPCS3. There are lot of implementations to be made and a lot of optimizations to be done. Working on an emulator in general is very exciting, but it's also extremely time-consuming. This is where you come in. The funding received from patrons will go towards, but is not limited to: Support for core developers to spend full-time working on the emulator, obtaining hardware for development and testing, and maintaining the official RPCS3 website along with a compatibility database.
